Please devs, we've gots ta know...

That was actually funny I must admit. Typical response though. Don’t counter any of my points just deflect to something completely unrelated. Are you involved in politics?

You’re right. I was mad at you so I didn’t want to risk being rash in my argument. So instead I made a passive aggressive comment. I’ll address your point.
Of course they are not required to do it. It doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t though if they want to maximize sales. They don’t have to do anything. They don’t have to have this forum…or community managers…or videos…or do interviews…or anything. But they do. Why? BECAUSE THEY WANT TO SELL IT.

All some people are saying is that more information could mean more sales which I agree with. Now if their strategy is to purposefully withhold info for a “timed” release (we are a few weeks away lol) then I hope their strategy doesn’t backfire. It’s not like this is a proven ip.

If they aren’t releasing info because its not done yet then to that I say WTF? This game was delayed a year and they still haven’t figured out how they are going to allow customization of custom matches on console or whether they are releasing mod tools on PC? Sure buddy I believe that.
Splash Damage is a developer. See, developers program. Bethesda is the publisher, they sell. The minute SD has a contract with a publisher to produce a game, that’s the extent of what they need to sell. They finished. It’s now Bethsoft’s turn up at the plate.

You keep saying “why don’t they release info?!” Because their job is to toe the line, and follow the terms of the contract they signed in point 1. Bethsoft says what they can and cannot announce, and if they want to make any sales in the future (see my first point for what is considered a sale for a developer), then they need to obey the terms of their contract, or publishers in the future will not want to work with them.

points, you had points ?

sorry, wasn’t actually replying to you for the most part, after you missed the context of badman’ post, I didn’t take you seriously. now what was your point in this thread about server settings and SDK ?

Good response! I’m too tired to counter. I will do that tomorrow.

Nail can learn from you.

Nail had it right. I’m just so bad at shutting up. Everything I said was obvious, and has been said before tonight by other people. Can’t find where because I just don’t care enough.
Wow. You really are naive. Three little words:

CALL.

OF.

DUTY.
Haha interesting because that is probs the case now with COD but a brand new title with a completely new style like Brink wouldn’t just sell on the name.
“they owe us alot.”

they owe you nothing
I was talking about gamers and possible buyers of the game and since I’m a gamer and a buyer I come into that bunch of people.
100% agree with u. Most kids on forums can’t seem to understand basic things like that. Here you have a company trying to sell an unproven and unknown product and potential customers shouldn’t expect answers to basic questions? Lol. Obviously running a business is not the strength of some of these kids. It’s like they think the dev and publisher are doing us favors or something by making a game they will sell for $60 a pop.

Also thanks to Badman for responding and bringing some sense into this thread validating what Captain K has been saying to these kids.
The point is that they told like a billion time that when they can answer, they do… Its totally legitimate to ask question, now if you cant refrain from the hype and you start become wet because you dont have an answer within a minute, you can also not buy the game, and wait for more information to be revealed…

People just go crazy and preorder, then they yell because they want their investment to be worth it , if you arent satisfied with the info they gave till now why on hell did you buy the game in the first place? Being a blind sheep isnt the new “cool” ya’know ?

Peace

Well this has derailed a bit since last night. Group hug, everyone!

Locking this until there’s actual factual info to discuss.
