You guys really dropped the ball with the PC version of Brink. It’s unoptimized as hell, specifically for the AMD/ATi card users. What does it feel like releasing this crap out to people?
Please admit you guys messed up on the PC version
What do you expect them to say?
"Hi Splash Damaged. We’re very glad you’re feeling terrible. We hope we achieved on crushing your hopes and happy we could steal your money !
After all, we’re just another money sucking company.
Expect more crap from us in the near future.
Thanks for your constructive feedback ! "
In all honesty, you do realize your question is somewhat immature and not very relevant.
At least they’re doing the efforts on checking every bug related issue thread and in some cases respond to them.
Sorry but I expect minor bugs when a new game is released but not gamebreaking bugs, in this case, ****ty performance on a high end machine. 20-30 FPS, good job Splash Damage, good job at the testing phase.
Is it normally the developer or the publisher that handles mass testing? in my experience the publisher.
Lets be honnest Bethesda don’t have a great QA record… let’s list the recent ones shall we:
WET - Buggy as hell
Rogue Warrior - Buggy as hell (and then some)
Fallout 3 - Buggy as hell
Fallout New Vegas - Buggy as hell
…
Am I the only person seeing a trend here?
Yeah I am more concerned now that they seem to be pawning it off on Bethesda who don’t really seem to care, after all theyre the ones who forced it out
While I do understand your pain, despite me being an nVidia guy, but you gotta understand not only just how difficult it is to create a PC game that works across all PC builds but also works 100% bug-free with all the various hardware set-ups in the world. The problem that is currently afflicting the ATI/AMD world is something that will be fixed… hopefully within a reasonable amount of time. Sure, it really sucks that it happened but all that can be done is to let them work on it, feed the devs your specs so they have a better idea what might be causing it, and hope AMD/ATI provides some driver updates in the near future to assist as well.
Tossing a fit and sarcasm isn’t going to help the issue much.
PC has buggy performance. Xbox multiplayer is laggy. PSN is offline. All versions are messed up. However even by myself or coop with some friends I’m still enjoying it. It just needs a good fixin’.

The developers are supposed to do the testing, if you get your producers to bug test you obviously are ****ing something up.

Hey wait a second. Splash Damage charges money for the game. In every other industry a faulty product could easily be returned. He would get money back. It is immature for SD to charge money for an unfinished game. Either their process, or their marketing sucks (or both). I had serious issues with ET:QW and I know what they’re capable of (it only worked flawlessly for me if all other players were bots), now it seems even worse.
A lot of users have problems with PC version, don’t deny that ! I don’t have the game, but while watching justintv stream I’ve seen two horrible, terrible bugs already: 1) no sound in one level 2) invisible players . Splash Damage shouldn’t get away with regularly releasing games like this, and don’t try to derail a valid thread/complaint with personal attacks.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t the FPS capped to 30 regardless of “user rigs”.
Isn’t it ultimately up to the publisher to give the green light for a closed beta or not? With so much hardware diversity, I can’t help but think it’s short sightedness of Beths part to NOT have a closed, controlled beta so they can get feedback from as much hardware combinations as possible… this alone would’ve highlighted the Ati performance issue, and numerous other graphical bugs. A closed beta on the 360 similar to the ones they had on the PS3 would also have highlighted the lag issue… I’m not annoyed that the bugs exist, I’m annoyed about the fact most of the issues seen could have been picked up and fixed very easily and fixed before launch… and it saddens me the impact this could have on sales of future SD games.
Anyway, my copy is on the way… roll on tomorrow \o/
This is the real truth of it. I am on PC and lucky I run an Nvidia system, I experience some nasty game braking bugs from time to time, Its a new game so i expect bugs, and I have faith they will be patched.
But I can’t say I’m not disappointed in what seems like a large lack of testing I can’t help but think a closed or open beta would have made a world of difference.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I honestly feel far worse for the console people. The outcry’s of the 360’s are numerous, I can’t quite understand how that is possible? From gen first to last of the 360’s or PS3’s there isn’t a lot of difference. How hard would it have been to test a handful of different generations of consoles that are all near identical?
What exactly is your dream machine’s configuration? I’m getting 125 fps on a just about 1000E machine.
This is not console discussion mate.
The PC version plays perfectly fine for me. Sure, there’s the occasional lag, but nothing to complain about really.
