Playing w/ Your Buddies

First of all let me just say thanks for Splash Damage, ID and Activision for putting together an awesome Multiplayer game (above that, it’s free ;))

I wanted to post this so that perhaps makes the wish list…

I’m not in a game clan, and neither are my friends but when we do get together online to play ET, one guy has to go into the server menu locate a server w/ enough seats, get out message all of us w/ the IP so we can join, I was wondering if a feature like that in Jedi Knight II where you could search buy the nick would be possible?

If u get All Seeing Eye program u can track buddies with the Buddie Tracker,just enter their name into it and it does the rest.

pathfinder http://home.t-online.de/home/christian.rodemeyer/pathfinder.htm can also find players by name.

WOW,

Thanks for the input, I personnally love the pathfinder solution, it’s easy to use and was extreamly easy to setup. Since this is already built maybe on a later patch Splash or Id will add it to the game (crossing fingers :D)

Here is one link I hope others use or will at least like I like this software called team speak and I do use it to play the game, it uses very little bandwidth and improves your overall game :slight_smile:

It is simpler, and the name finding works better than the unregistered verion of ASE. OTOH, ASE works when the master server is down, where pathfinder does not. ASE also has many more features and supports all kinds of games.

Yes, I have been owned by TP. :frowning: He was probably the best sniper I ever saw in RTCW, and damn good at other classes too.

ASE + pathefinder are great. when that fails… MSN

My mates PC’s r all crappy, cant run wolfy in a window wtc so i usually join a server first, run MSN and i tell em what server.

Or text messages
“im in Insomnia, getting murdered, need panzer now”

ASE and pathfinder work a treat for this, and msn

but also IRC :smiley:

download www.mirc.com , join “quakenet” irc server and idle in #splashdamage , and/or whatever other channels you like - you can create one for you and your friends easily. may suit some more than msn, and vice versa. actually trillian will let you use msn and IRC (and yahoo, ICQ) from the same program, and perhaps makes it esier to use IRC - just not as powerful or customisable as mirc.

Ive no major beef with it, works ok like but for me, my 3 buddies are fcuking useless on PC’s and have to be talked thru any new thing they have to do ( Seriously Fcuking annoying i wish i could rant!) so MSN can be the easiest ya know!!??[/quote]
