Why not allow people to submit an application of sorts for a player moderator status? It would help with controlling hackers that run around trolling and such.
Player mods?
its a good idea but the thought of someone could abuse the power is just…
overwhelming
first rule of forums and game servers, people who ask to be admins, are NEVER made admins
Fine idea, but would be abused way too easily. Not worth the potential risk imo, I rarely ever run into hackers. Only really seen one obvious one ever, everyone else is just really good.
thats why you would need to apply for it and abuse of power would result in some sort of serious consequence. On the aussie servers, I’ve run into like 15+ hackers in the last week, its ridiculous.

actually there are more hacker/cheater that is currently in dirty bomb.
ive spectated 9-11in server in Asia and EU those guys were using wallhack to see enemies thru walls but not aimbot.
one of those guys using kira and using katana while hiding on walls but the cursor follows the player name whil in spectator mode.
another one is proxy playing on bridge, looking thru walls before she set down mines and detonate it just before the enemy spotted it. one of my friend was walking on the bridge just before the end of the bridge he stops and trying to snipe a guy near EV then i saw the proxy detonated her mine thinking my friend was near the ammo station on the top of the bridge.
then we vote kicked him/her but the vote kick fails right after it started.
then he/she started to one hit kill everybody when he got found out.
all 8 of us did submit a report so it better be solved soon.
i just played a game in which everyone except me was aimbotting.

It’s just too easy now. We finally got the guy hacking in Australia banned, but he was banned on a Friday and he already had a new account by Friday evening, but now since it’s the weekend there we can’t get him banned until Tuesday for us. He just isn’t giving up lol.
I mean it takes 2-3 minutes tops to make a new account, and Dirty Bomb is already installed on the PC, so it’s nothing for hackers to have their accounts banned. Something more needs to happen, SD/Nexon need to get in touch with Steam or something to see what else can be done.
You should probably know that a simple moderator or an in-game moderator and someone who has actual in-game functions and is an executive power, often called a GM, are different things. And most of the time GMs applies for a direct job at the company. I actually “asked” to be a support worker and a Game Master for a company some moths ago. Now I work for them and can do the things OP is asking for. And get paid for doing that work. So, yeah. People can actually ask to be GMs.

its just the spread of the cheat is very fast.
this one guy we reported on monday still havent get banned.
that Asia level 100+ toggler that has been plaguing on weekends making people go away from the game.
unless SD Nexon fixed the Anti-Cheat we will probably never get any cheater-less game in weekends.

applying for a job is very different than wanting to admin a game

I’m gonna say this once more Splash Damage has NOTHING to do with the alleged anti-cheat, Black Cipher is a Nexon game security application, they use it on several of their online games, as stated before, I’m sure it does well with macros
Everyday the idea of having admins to each region sounds more like a great idea.

I’ve been keeping up with the news of this hacker from you guys and it just seems too insane to be true. Obviously it is true and it’s a real problem, but the thought of someone spending their life cheating in a small-playerbase video game with non-existent in-game rewards and no out-of-game rewards, making dozens of accounts for this specific purpose- that’s just fucking insane. Could this violate laws at all? Not too keen on internet laws and what not, but this seems like some excessive harassment.
The only conclusion I can come up with, well two possibilities, is that this guy is either testing hacks for a website or creating his own hacks and testing is “script skills” or whatever.
@Dox Have you ever tried to ask this guy why he hacks so much in a game like Dirty Bomb? I’ve asked some cheaters before and I remember one telling me he does it on various games to testing his scripting skills. (I know there’s major differences between hackers and a script kiddie and shit like that). This all just seems so strange for someone to no-life like this.

well, in the weekends there are actually more new people than usual days.
many new faces i havent even seen in the game
then they met Hackers/Cheaters, giving free cheats with the promise of nexon never do anything (well ofcourse nexon do things to cheaters) some of them are power hungry and would like to try things…
i cant play this game until 22, just waiting for that update hopefully came with security updates
I am happy to at least report that one of the hackers I found and reported deactivated one of their accounts at least. They probably made another one… don’t care… If I find them I will report them again… and again… and again… and again… and again… and again… and again… and will never really stop reporting any definite hacker I find.
I honestly only can see a region moderator working if they are employed by Nexon who is mainly in charge of the anti cheat as far as I know. That way they will have access to all the anti cheat tools Nexon has but also has to follow their business rules.

It is very true unfortunately. The latest account he’s made even has the same name, same profile picture, same everything. Why he does it I don’t know, he doesn’t really ever talk other than laughing at people (with voice comms) when people try to kick him. But if you ask him questions about anything he seems to ignore you most of the time. Judging from his voice he’s a teenager, maybe early 20’s, and he’s mostly only online during the day, so one might assume he is either unemployed with nothing better to do or a college/uni student bored and trolling while he is on break.
Either way I’m just sick of it. If we had a huge playerbase and 50 servers to choose from it wouldn’t be an issue, but Australia on a good day only has 3-5 servers running during the day so it’s pretty hard to avoid him.
Something more needs to be done. Every time they ban his account he shows up within hours or some times minutes on a new one. It’s just a waste of time even bothering to report him now, so I’m not going to any more.
@Dox don’t give up.
I have a feeling that is what drives this guy. The feeling of apparent superiority must be intoxicating to them. They want you to feel weak and inferior. such a waste…
This player gets off putting others down it seems. Since they need people to do that to denying them their thrill might help you guys.
So the main thing I can suggest is if they enter your game go into spectate mode. If enough players go into spectate mode there is a chance they may eventually leave the server.
Since your player base is on the smaller size if enough of you guys start doing that the cheater may… in time… reduce their activity since not enough people are feeding their lust for superiority.
yeah not the best idea but I personally would rather fight by doing nothing than give up and do nothing at all hoping some one else would come save me.
many of us would not even exist if certain people decided not to resist…
