Silencers
Longer Barrels (accuracy, less recoil)
Compensated barrels (even less recoil)
Extended Mags
Different kinds of ammunition (hollow point, fullmetal jacket, etc)

BTW, handgun dont just come in 9mm…

They can come in 22LR, .32, .38, .45, 9mm, 11mm, .40 S&W, 50AE, to name a few.

And revolvers come in a lot of calibers also, .357 magnum, .44 magnum. 454 casull. .500, etc.

what are the benefits of the different ammo types you mentioned like how is a hollow point bullet better then a normal bullet? The only game I’ve played with FMJ bullets was COD and since there is no bullet penetration how would they work in Brink?

Hollow point bullets expand and fragment upon impact, jacketed rounds provide better penetration but less fragmentation.

I suppose hollow point would deal additional damage to players, Jacketed would deal extra damage to turrets/can blow up mines or something along those lines?

i hate the idea of something increasing overall damage. Every game I’ve seen with it in it completely ruins the balance (see MW2 and BFBC2)

I agree. If you want something to do more damage, then make it do more damage from the start - don’t add a “perk” to take care of it.

since you can only have a knife with a pistol anyway, why would you need a knife attachment for a pistol? A reason for making it so you can only use a knife with a pistol, (and no OHK knives) is to cut down on the over abundance of melee in FPS games - it’s a control measure. Having the ability to have a knife attachment seems more like a reward than a means of control.

to increase knife speed or knife power, obviously not OHK

Sorry if this was unclear but i intended for the knife attachment to be pistol only, similar to the ones from borderlands.

That’s like having a grenade launcher attachment on a Grenade launcher.

I also don’t see a pistol getting any “special” attachments that a rifle (or other guns) couldn’t have. The guns I am interested in (in terms of attachments) are the heavy weapons, since they seem more likely to have attachments that differ from the other guns, or maybe they just have less options.

it’s more like holding two knives. Reason for pistol having different attachments is to further differentiate it from being an extension of the magazine on the primary.

Regarding different ammunition types, I don’t actually find it likely in a serious game (not a ‘fun mod’ or cartoon-like) tho I could be pleasantly surprised and… entertained. :slight_smile:

i don’t know if you need a knife and a knife attachment i intended for it to be a replacement. in exchange for more power or speed. I am fine with the different guns having different attachments so long as there balanced.

hollow point against soft target (flesh), jacketed against hardened target (body armour, helmet, car door)

Military rounds are nearly always full jacket as per Hague Convention

Really the only thing I want are some small scopes, different mags, and a knife attachment. I can’t really think of anything else that that would be useful but not too far-fetched. I think, however, that for April fools day, for the entire day gag weapons would be used netguns, pistols that shoot out boxing fists etc.
