Pink screen when loadng demos

Lately, when I’m loading demos, I get a completely pink screen in place of the gray screen and map with the loading bar. I’ve deleted all the latest and smaller pk3 files, so I don’t know what it could be.

Anyone?

I assume you view demos with ETPro, so did you look in the etpro folder for suspicious files?

Yes, I searched throught the ET root folder for pk3–it has to be a pk3 file, right?–but found nothing. It’s really no big deal, except that it’s a bit annoying.

Probably something with your video driver

I haven’t tampered with the drivers in quite a while. The strange part, I think, is that it’s only pink when loading a demo, not when loading a map on some server.

That almost certainly means it is caused by some .pk3 somewhere.

Could it be a “corrupt” pk3 file that I need, like a map?

Turns out it’s because r_clear was set to “1”.

“2” is dark gray.
