Pink loadout cards to battle cancer?

(AdmiralTeddy) #1

Hey,

I was thinking, what if we do a pink to fight cancer theme loadout skins set, where they’re kinda like the alienware skins, opened from a merc specific chest which holds one of their cards, in addition, you could also buy a specific card.
Then 80% of the money would be donated to a charity in the cancer area.

Slogan could be: <3 “Don’t be a dick, unless it’s to cancer” - Amerika <3
I think this would both be a cool way to promote dirty bomb and make a good name for our gaming community as I think this forum has the coolest bunch of people

So watcha guys think?

Keep playing dirty <3

I’m all for new and interesting skins if they look right  Helping a charity would be a nice bonus.

I still think you’re drunk Teddy.

Now I know this might not come as something that’ll happen next week or even next month, but i think it’d be a very nice theme, when the time is right

Nice idea, they could also do this with different charity events and cards (like movember, releasing merc loadouts with moustaches)!

(Rjsto) #6

Well this is a one sided poll

(AdmiralTeddy) #7

@Rjsto it’s a trap (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

(SereneFlight) #8

If this would happen, I would demand Movember skins.

(GottaBeGreg) #9

Movember skins would be amazing. Every male merc rocking a stach would be sick.

Pink, as in Susan G. Komen Foundation which pockets most of the donated money only giving a very small fraction towards breast cancer research? How about no?

(Mister__Wiggles) #11

This would be something I have a personal interest in. Maybe do a community contest to make a card (cosmetic wise) and the maybe chose a winner for every merc then offer up these cards as cases were all the proceeds go to charity. If this happened then it would prove just how awesome this community is and on a personal level mean a great deal to support the charity’s.

A year ago, an aunt of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. I think this would be a great way to give to charity via DB.

(AdmiralTeddy) #13

@“Grave Knight” no, pink is widely known as the color for fight against cancer, and I also think a pink skyhammer would look rad
charity which it will be donated to can be discussed, cancer research, macmillan and so many more are really good charities.
80% was just a suggestion too, devs can play around with that

(AdmiralTeddy) #14

@GottaBeGreg
Just imagine sparks and aura, the manliest mercs of them all

(krustybread) #15

wear pink, get drunk and dirty. sign me up.

(Ardez1) #16

Pink is most definitely a breast cancer related ribbon. Not cancer in general.

(Amerika) #17

The color that represents all cancers is lavender. Also, fuck cancer.

(Grave_Knight) #18

Pink Ribbon is also the symbol of Susan G. Komen Foundation which is known for misusing donation money (technically legal) so it has a bit of a bad reputation (at least among those in the know).

Would rather support lavender. Anti-cancer research would also help breast cancer. There is supposedly this cool technique they discovered that pinpoint targets and destroys cancer. Suppose to be more accurate and safer than radiation therapy (than again, is that saying much?).

Quite curious as to why some people oppose this idea.

It’s all in good intention.

My problem has to do with the negative association with pink ribbons caused by a certain foundation. (It is bad enough that there is a term called pinkwashing.)
