Phantom obsidian mors popular than others so far??????

It seems like ive seen more players today with phantom obsidians than ive seen with the other 4 obsidians released in the last 2 months combined.

He has the most drastic redesign of all the Obsidians so far, and definitely the edgiest look. All the cool kids gotta have him.

I’m not going to buy it at all. I think he looks too similar to the other obsidians I already have (a la Stoker) and so I’m gonna do a hard pass on a $15 dollar loadout card. No thank you. Way too much money.

I play phantom occasionally. He’s a lot of fun even if he’s not the best merc. Those skins do look awesome and they’re great cards, so why not? Lol

The first 3 were kind of meh loadouts, and the turtle one just looked horrible.

I would say it’s because e the load out aren’t shit, but considering that poeple bought other obsidian I will say it’s because 12yo favorite weeboo gut some edgy looks and because I love to annoy people that I play with I might even switch from my Cobalt phantom to obsidian

I was quite surprised myself but it seems like people admire his new skin a lot.
And the fact that you have a wider choice this time doesn’t hurt either.

The only other obsidians I might buy are Redeye (needs GSR) or Sawbonez (If the card has getup on it) since those two are practically my mains. I don’t see a reason to bother with a merc who I mostly just pick to screw around on.

The fact that there’s 3 loadouts the choose from, instead of just the one, probably has a lot to do with it. I’d also say the skin quality is a hell of a lot higher in regards to detail and design compared to skins like Stoker’s obsidian, which I thought was pretty awful… :smiley:

For me the fact that it is a complete new model makes it much more attractive than the head swaps + recolor we got for Fletcher, Stoker and Turtle. However I’m not a fan of the overly techno style or of Phantom for that matter (one of the 4 mercs I don’t own), so I’m not buying it. I only wish we had been given the option between a few loadouts for Arty as well :’(

Wait isnt artie more than just a head swap. Thats why he was more $$ than the rest

Exact, it was the only one of these new Obsidians that was an actual new model until Phantom showed up. That’s why I didn’t mention it when I spoke about “head swaps + recolor” :wink:

I just brought him up to lament the fact that back when he was available we had no choice on the loadout :frowning: I hope SD will continue with this approach of letting us pick from a few options.
