I never understood why games would do that crap.
I understand It in ranked but in a pub match???
Why.
Get rid of that crap
Penalty for leaving
What a pub match penalty? Since when…Show me something that proves this first time hearing of it.
Edit:I assume you have mistaken Ranked match with a public match.
If I understood now correctly (by the way dear @Kiyoshi , there’s “edit” button right upper side of your comment), you’re taking it as a penalty when leaving / disconnecting / crashing game before it finishes, doesn’t result in experience gain and missions progressing?
This isn’t penalty, but by design or some technical limitation afaik. Execution games do give exp and mission progresses even when leaving by the way. Not exactly sure why Objective and Stopwatch games fail to do so, hence why I am tilting more towards it being technical issue which SD / Nexon are having rather low priority in fixing. As it isn’t game breaking, albeit it being unfortunate at times if you crash.
I had 14k points and it decided to fucking crash me and i lost all that mission xp.
-.-

That’t not a penalty, that’s how almost every online game works. You lose connection before the end, you don’t get stuff.

How is that not a penalty?
He left the game before it was over and didn’t get the exp and credits, which is normal because he didn’t complete the game.
When you leave a game in ranked, you get a penalty: e.g. You can’t play another game for 30 minutes.
If you leave a pub game, you can just hop into another one, without restrictions.
1st: I didn’t leave. 2nd: Even if i did leave that doesn’t mean i didn’t just earn that exp so it should still give it to me no matter what. Example: If i go to work (Irl) and i do 30 hours in a week and i decide “I’m quitting today” and quit then i still get payed for that week. It shouldn’t matter if i leave or not.

It’s not a penalty, it’s connection error that doesn’t save progress.
The worst thing is when it does happen at the end of won ranked and, obviously, it doesn’t count it. There should be some autosave, at least every 5 minutes.
It’s not normal work. It can be compared to work orders. Easiest example: Headhunting. A headhunter (those still exist) don’t get paid until he finishes the job. So with the mercenaries in DB. It was even mentioned in the trailer. They only get paid if they finish the job. You did not (doesn’t matter if you lose connenction, left or whatever, you know the drill)
Try to lose connection less times.
Sorry.
Wait, are we killing real people here is this game? Like if I head shot vassili, one of the ISIS member will be dead too? Why you even bother to compare to be real world?
He compared it to the real world because literally everything in existence is a derivative of the real world and it is the easiest thing to compare it to.
It is basically a penalty because you didn’t FINISH the match. You disconnected. The game has no control over that and it doesn’t know you had no choice in the matter. Dirty Bomb is not omniscient and it wasn’t programmed to update your credits and exp during the match. It updates your credits and EXP at the end of the game, when a winner/loser is determined.
Now whether this is a penalty can be argued all you want, but nothing is earned until the end of the game. I would love for the individual servers to track all players data until the end and upload it to the database at the end whether or not they are still connected but that isn’t how it is coded.
@Ardez mentioned this already, but you can compare it to almost every multiplayer game aswell.
Also I do believe we get EXP/money and mission preogress if we actually leave the game. Wasn’t thath changed a while ago because people complained about it? I remember even getting cases from games I left.

I hadn’t thought that was true but you are welcome to test it.
I think it counts towards missions up to a certain extent, haven’t checked it though because the easiest one to test (Play X amount of execution rounds) is something I automatically cancel because I hate execution.
you don’t complete the contract, you don’t get paid, real life or game, you may have worked for 30 hours, but if the contract was for 40, you get nothing
No one was talking about completing the contract in order to get paid and if they are then that wasnt the point of it the point of it was that Even though you dont finish the match your playing and leave you should still get the exp the xp that goes toward missions and also give the credits still.
