PC Stats Site Update and Possibly Preview

(Bittermetal) #1

Hey SD

Can we please get an update on the PC Stats site? As of yesterday it has been a full month since anything was said about this. Last mention was when the consoles got their stats site on June 1 - http://www.splashdamage.com/content/brink-statistics-site-online-now

I know Bethesda/SD or whatever was hacked. Is that why its taking so long? Could you clue us in a bit more. If I don’t have DLC I would love to pour over my stats like a numbers geek.

I’m still having fun with the game but with no end game stats, I have no clue how well I am helping my team. I like to analyze my stats and focus on different areas just to make the game more interesting.

So can we get an update on the PC stats site, features and ETA?

Thanks!

Badman has said it will be up “very soon”. http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showpost.php?p=325896&postcount=1

Surely you can wait that long ?

Is it that hard for you to understand that people want clear information? Soon from a PR guy means exactly nothing.

Thats even more frustrating for people like me that hope for ANYTHING that brings back players.

And after these so called tweaks of the weapons I lose the fun even more because its more rewarding to snipe from a balcony a whole map then getting in the dirt. If you cant kill 3 noobs anymore because of the spread, something is really broken.

Hmmm…I think by this time, anyone who didn’t like the game will never change, no matter what the developers do. Heck, they’re even having a hard time keeping some of those few who do.

Anyway, question, what weapon are you using during that time where you can’t “kill 3 noobs”?

(TruGamer97) #5

Very soon is not an exact date just like they said dlc in june and it was postponed to july but now were told early july which also isn’t an exact date :frowning:

Splash damage; redefining the phrase “comming soon”

It was the good old carb. While prepatch with a little aim, movement and smart you could drop 3-4 players facing you, its now very hard.

Theres a reason why better players asked for less spread. The amount now is just frustrating. I dont use the term competion player anymore after theres no opponent to find anymore.

How is TF2 spreadwise? The download takes so long…

I was hoping we could get clan support sooner, but I guess they better balance/fix some stuff in the game before doing that; probably why they gave it the “late summer” release.

Great game, not too much spread. You will find that game VERY balanced.

(Terminator514) #10

Yea, TF2 is awesome, if you’re going to mimic anyone in term of balance changes mimic Valve and how they handle TF2.

(Kurushi) #11

Oh please, balanced? TF2 is a great game but so noob friendly, balance is all over the place. TF2 rewards the bad and punishes the good. It’s a great pub game but a million miles from balanced.

Valve turf out community weapons every week without any sustained testing. It’s like playing rock, paper, scissors with elephants and fighter jets

(nick1021) #12

Someone got owned )’=

It’s balanced. 80k agree with me that it’s balanced. You’re doing something wrong here.

Granted there is sometimes an unbalanced NEW weapon on a blue moon, but they fix it in a week, tops.

And most of the time, the weapon is too weak, so all that happens is no-one uses it for a while.

I have to agree with staement. It would be nice if SD updated those remaining members of the community before they get frustrated and leave like everyone else.

I also agree about the weapons and the spread. To be honest I think the previous patch while fxing alot of things made a lot of the weapons worse. They increased the spread on prety much all of the decent guns and made all the guns useless. They should have just buffed the weaker guns and kept the already decent guns the same.

Since the patch all I have done is snipe aggressively with a medium build. I push forward clear the area with my rifle and push up even further. People dont understand how effective and deadly a good sniper can be because all I see is snipers sitting in the spawn. If you actually push up and be aggressive as a sniper you can do a lot of damage. At the moment its easier to get most kills whilst sniping than using an SMG or AR. With the weapon buff its pretty much a 1 shot kill.

This is the problem when game developers comment on release dates. If they’re exact but then run into last minute problems with the code (or distribution), we get upset that they didn’t meet the date. But if they’re vague, we get frustrated about not knowing what to expect.

I prefer it when they can simply say “we’ll release it when it’s done.” I suspect that’s a luxury they don’t always have.

(nick1021) #15

Or just what date and have it ready.

Or just say the original date and add 2 more days like “The dlc should be ready from June 3-June5”

Yeah! Ooo, and the exact time down to the millisecond would be nice too. Also, if they don’t release the DLCs at the appointed day/time they should kill one of their employees for every day they go beyond the stated release date (at the time of day specified down to the millisecond of course).

EDIT: For those with a less developed sense of humor, I’m being sarcastic.

(nick1021) #17

Wait, so do you think that is or isn’t a good idea…

I think it’s pretty good. Look at KFs update. They said June 30th. Then on June 30th they said July 1st. And it came on July 1st. If they said “From June 30th to july 2” the fans wouldn’t of been so mad.

You crack me up little buddy. You do know that Brink has an esrb rating of “Teen” right?

Being sarcastic yes. You can take a jab at my comment with sarcasm. Still no idea. I can’t HEAR what tone you are talking in.

(Jimmy James) #20

I bet you can if you try hard enough.
