PC Population

(Apocalypse_Pony) #41
Shouldn’t you just wait till the DLC comes out and see how the population is then?

Right now the game is dead.
Not bad advice. Hopefully the DLC will be out in a matter of days. The down side is, if you don’t get the game and the DLC within 2 weeks of the DLC release, you will be one of the few people who will have to pay for it. Just another attempt to destroy any future for this game.

(Kurushi) #42
Just watch. It will get lower. It will get boring. And SKYRIM, which is 4 months away will kill this game.

And seriously BF3 is going to be amazing. Have you seen the new frostbite 2 engine? If anyone prefers brink over that (even if you don’t like the gameplay) then you might just be borderline retarded.
Where does Skyrim come into it lol? Are you on the 360 version nick? that would make more sense. People come and go so easy

(nick1021) #43

Dlc will brinK a rise in population. But not for long. And after the dlc it will drop very rapidly. Because most people are just waiting for the dlc, after that they will uninstall the game.

I might as well just sell it back to gamestop for 5 bucks -_-

(Kurushi) #44

If you have the console version I can understand why you’d be worried about player counts in Brink but on the PC there is always players ready to play.

There will always be your CoDs and your WoWs that dominate a genre but that doesn’t stop a healthy spread of players across less heard of games. This is what makes the PC such a great platform. You can look at the numbers but it doesn’t mean much because things are always steady.

Things are different on the console, shelf lives expire. People are ready to jump ship so easy. It looks like that with Brink anyway in all honesty

(nick1021) #45

Ye, the decrease is quite steady.

This is why the game publishers crank out the games so fast without as much polish. Consolers go buy the game of the week and toss it in the junk bin 3 weeks later. Wash, rinse, repeat. The game industry is just following the market who will eagerly buy up anything they put out, so why spend more money polishing a game that noobs will buy anyway.

(rushzone.com) #47

Could not have said it better myself, it seems the developers no longer want to send out betas or multilayer demos of their games, probably because they know that people will encounter problems or spot the poor quality game design and wont buy the game.

(INF3RN0) #48

This is why games should not be made across platforms. The majority (not necessarily all, don’t get mad pants forum consolers) of the console buyers are much more impulsive when it comes to buying, they have lower expectations, and there’s just way more of them than PC players. It’s an easy money target, which is why you can always expect every console port game to suck on PC. Not saying people can’t still make good games these days, but most just want to make a quick buck and can get away with it too.

You’ve been given so many chances, so many opportunities to express yourself and your opinions in ways which at least attempt to be civil, to respect other people’s points of view if they differ from yours, to show a little insight that perhaps, just perhaps, your manner and vitriol may well be unsocialable, but you continue to be happy to ridicule, abuse and dismiss any view which remotely disagrees with your own.

Your behaviour is confrontational, deliberately so based on your behaviour and comments, you have no useful or positive contribution here, by your own admission in other threads, you enjoy being argumentative - not for the sake of debate, but purely to antagonise others.

You have fulfilled many times over:

[ul]
[li]Insulting other posters or engage in flame wars.[/li][/ul]
Your above post, despite the ‘you might’ element, is insulting and not isolated; it again hits your criteria of ‘I’m right, you’re wrong’ therefore open to arbitrary abuse, as you deem fit. To wit, everyone is fair game if they do not share your views.

[ul]
[li]Posts or behavior detrimental to the forums.[/li][/ul]
Your continued behaviour is detrimental, without a shadow of a doubt. Not because you have a negative view of the game, but simply because you manifestly enjoy disruption, abuse and being critical without the essential element of being constructive.

You were on my ignore list for a long time, but I take this one time out to say this, not because I believe you have any interest or insight, but to try to highlight the fact that you simply don’t wish to engage, reflect or offer anything constructive.

The overwhelming evidence is you wish to embark on behaviour which is continually and willfully detrimental to the forums, which is in contravention of the rules.

LOL MORONS @ the people saying Bf3 is gonna be amazing. I mean if you’re a brain dead pubber it’ll be okay I guess. Like previous bf, its gonna be crap for competitive play.

(NigelDocker) #58

Obviously everyone has different opinions and like different games, but millions would dissagree with you.
To millions Battlefield 2 and badcompany 2 are one of the best examples of competative multi objective team based games.

Many idiots also think cod is the best example of a competitive game. Doesn’t make them or their opinions right.

Like I said bf3 will never ever become a big competitive game. Why? Cause it’s a pub game made for casuals.

(nick1021) #60

Casuals? Seriously? Usually when bf is compared with cod. CoD is the casual one. Casuals would never play bf because it’s too hard. (Not as hard as quake live and css, but it’s not as simple as cod).

But I can take a post seriously from someone named coolstory.
