PC Population
Who’s to say player counts decline then never increase? Brink sold A LOT of copies at launch and it hasn’t sold to half the people that want the game, trust me.

PC games have a long shelf life, they grow over time and numbers will rise. Comparing a game years old to something only just getting started isn’t a fair comparison. Things get better with age on the PC - at least with a game as young as Brink
I just came out of a great match of BRINK. So close trying to prevent them from getting on that d@m plane. No where near dead for me.

I dont see Brink’s population more than it is now in a years time, I see it less.
I see the numbers rising when the DLC comes out by a few hundred,
I see the numbers topple back down again, I see the numbers keep declining like thay have been
I see dead people

(tokamak) #23

No, definitely not.

(Slade05) #24

I return from time to time to see how things are, so I guess I`m in that unstable group. DLC should bolster numbers up a little, I presume.

Games that have a bad start (like BRINK) don’t grow over time usually. They tend to die quick and stay dead.

If you don’t believe, look at the population over other failed games in the past feel years (Crysis 2 etc). All of them barely have any players left.

(el1as) #26

some people here lied

population is not stable, is going down day by day, in 1 month from 17000 pick to 700
the game has no chance on pc, there will not be any growth, no dlc will help
a pick of 700 players now means that there is an average of 300-400 players concurrently online in ALL THE WORLD

Where are you living?

As EU player I got no problem finding a couple filled server with good games on them at every daytime.

Cant tell for NA or other regions.

Im sorry but this is delusional thinking.

Mayne a few will play again but the general consensus of the internet: we bought something EE didn’t like and got burned.

Battlefield 3 is 3 months away. Brink will have nobody playing come october…a lot or games will lose players but this one will be delegated to the side where if you want to play, you better know enough players to fill a team because servers WILL be empty.

(Je T´aime) #29

I play some bfbc2 and even if the class system and team work aspect look similar the gameplay is completly diferent , the players that will buy bf3 are probably bf and cod players. So i doubt that will have a big impact in the game, and the majority of brink players aren´t from pseudo military shooters background.

Can you imagine a brink player camping in a bush waiting to see an enemy in a huge map after so much smart : p

(peteXnasty) #30

After seeing it in motion I would doubt the sanity of anyone who likes online shooters but isn’t excited to play BF3. Frostbite 2 is worlds beyond anything out there right now.

I mean hell the guys I work with who like girls JRPG nonsense are all picking it up on release day. Not just Brink; October ia going to see a number of communities get shattered.

(Wildkarrde) #31

Show caution about what people say about Brink on here some hate the game due to it being so disappointingly mediocre and some say there is absolutely nothing wrong and it’s the best thing since sliced White bread.
So before making a decision based on what people say in here just check their tags and see what they’ve said previously some will be diehard haters and others overbearing fanboys.

(peteXnasty) #32

Give it a shot for yourself if you really want but to answer the.community question? Its not stable and is on life support. It will be dead in months. If you find a core group to keep playing and you enjoy the game, good for you

(cptincognito) #33

I live on the East Coast of NA, I’ve never had trouble finding a low ping server full of players. The game has improved with patches, and the players have gotten better at the system/teamwork. I’ve recently introduced people to the game and they’re having a blast- if you don’t read the forums you’d never think the game was ‘dying’.

(Cep) #34

When I come on for an hour midday there are at least 5 servers with players. Though I use filters so I only get objective/stopwatch, > 1 player, < 100ping and I’m UK.

Its not massive numbers but this is midday, in the evening its usually up to 15 servers.

BF3 and Brink couldn’t be further away from each other in terms of gameplay

Brink will never be empty but it will never be full either.

Price will drop, new players will come (lots still sat on the fence) - fixes will be made, old players will return.

Numbers couldn’t get much lower, the only way is up :>

(donmichelangelo) #36

The population over the period from release till today is indeed alarming.

Hope the free DLC will resurrect/push the game forward onto a higher population otherwise they can stop working on future DLCs for Brink and start/focussing completely their man-power on Brink 2, or any other project or release Brink Free-to-Play and only charge for DLC.

I still ask me who ****ed up the release, SD or Bethesda? However, probably we will never come to know this…

(nick1021) #37

HELL NO!
I’ve been looking at the stats each and every day. And it has ONLY been falling. The decay is exponential though. Like when it was the 2000s it would decrease by 150-200 each day. When it was in the 1000s it would decrease 100 each day. But now it’s below 1000 (700 actually) and it’s decreasing 10-20 each day.

It’s an opinion if this game is good or not, but the population isn’t.

Oh my. Apparently Wolfs Nemisis stupidity spread on you to. This is serious…

Please tell me, who the hell would pay 37.50 for a game that just has a bad rep (hearing from friends, from other gamers, reviews, comments on youtube laughing at it) when they could get one of the best games on pc for free. Or other better games for a much cheaper price.

Just watch. It will get lower. It will get boring. And SKYRIM, which is 4 months away will kill this game.

And seriously BF3 is going to be amazing. Have you seen the new frostbite 2 engine? If anyone prefers brink over that (even if you don’t like the gameplay) then you might just be borderline retarded.

 I think we need v-say’s otherwise it will be dead just as fast as WOLFENSTEIN-2009 and that wood be ashame  :stroggbanana: Still play ET:QW from day 2 day:stroggbanana:
