Did it let you down? Or are you totally happy with the PC rendition of Brink? A friend of mine wants to know how good it is as far as PC quality goes.
PC players care to comment?
reviews are comming in and the majority are 8/10 at the moment theres a few neg ones 2/10 but they don’t seem to have got the idea or just haven’t played it much
Now I’ve only played a couple of hours, but I’ve enjoyed it so far. And the fact that Splash Damage has more experience with PC games than console would make me think the PC would be just as good if not better than the other versions.
All the peeps I know on steam and TS are either playing it constant and have not commented (a good thing I think) or are saying it’s awsome
Only gripe I have is ITS STILL NOT FRIDAY YET>>>
While I am unable to play the PC version until Friday I spent the majority of the day watching PC footage streams while doing some university work.
I can say I am relieved with both the performance shown in all of the streams as well as for the gameplay. For what I can tell from watching Streams the PC version looks solid.
I tried talking at players too in my friendslist, but the didn’t answer, guess they were to busy being overwhelmed
We’ll know in time will we.
Been playing for about 9 hours now. I’m very pleased. This game is insanely smooth on a good server.
At the moment, over 12500 people are playing the PC version on steam (the game being played most currently). So I guess not everyone has technical issues and not everyone is hating the game
“This map on PC causes a sound glitch.” - Ugh !
“When they said no thing can one shot you they kind of lied. Shotguns can 1-shot you. Grenades can 1-shot you. Sniper rifles can 1-shot you.”
Yeah, one whole map on PC doesn’t have sound?
Really hope stuff like this is fixed when we in EU get their game.
My take on it: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1881585
I knew the reviews would kill this game for the single player part. I’m not into single player so this doesn’t affect me in the least. SD, splashdamage, are a multiplayer company and I wish there were seperate reviews for the multiplayer.
If you are looking for a good multiplayer, that’s nothing like the crap of duty series and has a real fun movement system with rewarding teamplay… You got it here, hands down.
I’m an ex ETQW and WOLF:ET player and I can honestly say This game surpassed my multiplayer expectations. I love the smart system and how it can be used to make the battle more dynamic.
I hope true pc gamers, that came for a multiplayer game, can look at these reviews and LAUGH at how they complain about lack of K/D and how they cant have one class do every objective… I mean really? All these reviewers sound like they want a capture the flag game ala bf2 where the class doesn’t matter in order to progress in the map.
Big thumbs up to everyone that’s too busy playing the game and enjoying the multiplayer to give a rats
about the reviews. I’m posting this for the multiplayer lovers out there reading all the negative replies. See you at the Ark Brothars
My macbook pro is very slow and choppy, but it is 3 years old with an 8600m. I’ll be able to find out for sure how it plays when I get home and I can use my gaming rig
I’ve only played about an hours worth of single player so far but I’m enjoying it. I’m loving the shotgun.
Well said Dom, and nice one for trying to do so on the Steam forums
I think your post will probably be spammed out of existence soon with the usual brainless replies, but at least you made the effort
Some people over there do actually appreciate common sense and logic. Sometimes
It’s gotten good reception… the problem is that the loud minority always sounds bigger than the actually majority
It is great to see NA W:ET and Quake Wars players like dommafia loving the game.
I hope you guys are having fun while we EU players have to spend 3 days watching Streams and crying.
edit
I had to shred myself off that stream if I wanted to get anything done today.
Yeah. I have some work to do for university that usually would not take more than 30 minutes. I have been “working on it” for hours now. I need to close that Stream …
Only played 3 hours with friends. Few complaints in three hours. It’s fun. Needs some polish.
Biggest gameplay gripe is that when throwing a “buff” to a teammate it will pull you out of cover if they are too far away. This has happened more than a few times. It will just take some learning.
I also wish the movement speed was faster although I haven’t tried the light class yet. I swear the medium operative is faster than the medium engineer/soldier. That sounds really stupid, but when playing offline I was able to move faster as an operative, I’m sure of it. Bug? Drunk? Whatevs
Pros:
Love the artwork. I still say SD has the best artists in the biz.
Moving around the maps is fun
Shooting feels good, just have to get it dialed in.
