I really don’t get the whole deal with piracy. Almost everyone has done it and can say that they rightfully did so because of many reasons, low quality/price ratio and just to try the game to see if it’s worth buying. I’m sure a good demo will lower piracy on a game drastically, including extra drm will probably only put off potential buyers.
Cod has pirate community on pc at about 50-90%, but that can be explained by ATVI and that the game is just a damn console port.
PC or XBOX?
There’s no reason to pirate a game to see how it is with YouTube and 6 billion gameplay videos these days.
How the heck can you feel a game through a video. I have watched quite many vids of upcoming games and when getting into it, i always have the randomness feel, then a week passes till i feel the game. It’s like watching some bmx tricks and visualizing yourself doing it, but you can’t bloody do it in real life.
Planting the Honesty Hat firmly on my head, the only time I pirated a game was due to the fact the demo kept crashing my PC. When the game was released, I got a copy just to see if it worked… and it still crashed. Nothing I did resolved the issue, so didn’t really see the point in paying the price for a game I couldn’t play. I upgraded my rig… said pirated game worked… went out and bought the full price version of the game. In that case a demo was informative and let me know that my set up was insufficient.
more content from the developers of the game and not community
also about piracy to pc : tell that to steam’s 2010 nearly 1 billion total money sales(and its one digital distributioner)
But was worth being pirated? Please, don’t give this ‘wasn’t worth buying’ excuse, pirating a game is illegal and that’s that.
Well more content easily:1)no demos on pc
2)many arcade games new ones only developed to psn and xbla
3)bfbc2 onslaught mode,bf1942
shall i continue?
pc has modding community, nuff said. We don’t need official content. Sometimes specific content from 3rd party is better(maps for comp and such).
Yes i agree . Im just justifying why i put more content from developers to consoles.
Modding is the best thing a game community can have
