PB Problems running 2 PCs on internet

(dyzlexic) #1

Ok, I have ET installed on both my friends computer and my sisters (My Computer is out for repairs). He brings his computer over, and plugs into my network. When we both try and play, he can see all servers in the server list and connect to them all. My sisters computer, however, cannot see any servers, and punkbuster will not give me a guid or a CD-Key, so I cannot conect to any pb servers. TInputting the server IP directly works, but will only connect to non pb servers, as pb servers kick me for “No empty CD Key allowed”. This is on a fresh install and updated to 2.60.

I did a tracert to the punkbuster et auth server, and they all timed out. My sister has no firewall installed other than norton antivirus, which I had autoprotect disabled at the time. I tried all kinds of solutions avalible here, and i’m guessing it has to do with the router settings.

What would I set in the router to allow both PCs to play enemy territory and connect to punkbuster?

Tried:

wait 50
pb_myguid (Returns: GUID:?)
pb_cdkeyreg (Says it sent request, nothing ever comes back)
pb_cdkeyver (Same)

in the launch shortcut, you can try:

  1. First, each player needs to find the ET shortcut on his/her desktop
  2. Next, right click on the shortcut and select properties. You should see a properties box that is similar to the one shown here.
  3. In the target line, each player needs to specify their net_port. Add the line +set net_port 27660 for the first player and 27661 for the next, etc.
  4. Click the Apply button and then OK
  5. Give it a go

Still no go. I tried the shortcut:

“C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ET.exe” +set net_port 27660

Since putting +set net_port 27660 inside the quotes returns an error in the window. I opened the port 27660 to my lan IP address, and set firewall to allow wan * to LAN 192.168.0.105 always enaed on UDP and TCP. Still nothing. I tried the same thing with 27960.

Ifurita’s advice should work … what error are you getting ?

Can you play on your sister’s computer if the other computer is not online?

Try this to retrieve a CD-key:
/pb_cdkeyreg
