PB - OS exception notice

Just had this tonight spamming the console and getting me kicked by PB? Never had this before (my OS is Win7 x64 ultimate btw)

I also got this problem now “PunkBuster Client: O/S Exception Notice” also spamming my console. I get kicked every time. A game restart and reboot of the whole system didn’t work. :frowning:
I need fast help!

Do you have Microsoft Security Essentials?

Start ETQW.exe as admin (right mouse --> admin rights)

had the o/s exception thing a few times, though a restart always fixed it. I aint sure but i suspected it was when some windows update happand and it needed the system to restart.

Could try re-installing PB, and if that doesn’t work the whole game again.

I am almost sure it’s crap from the evenbalance side. Usually these things happen for no reasons at all to many people at once. The only way to get rid of that is to wait.

PB have now dropped support of idtech games.

Source/Link? Want to see because i’ve only had one PB problem which was resolved by restarting the game.

Ow, also, search for PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe and give these programs admin rights aswell.

Wow64 folder or something…

As far as I know, this happends when the PnkBstr services gets started AFTER the OS warning thingy (dunno that name anymore for W7 admin popup all the time) has loaded and then it requires admin rights

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to drop PB in most servers as it’s only useful for cvar restrictions? I’ve had this error happen a few times and a restart fixed it. Right now pb is more hassle than useful.

Agreed - PB is useless. Think I’ve removed it from most of my servers by now, it only made problems.
