PB GUID problems.. which causes more problems..

After I play ET 2-3 times the next time I open ET and try and join a server I get the infamous your GUID is blah blah blah(cant remember it fully but saying its not correct) so I have to close ET then set off my bat script I made to delete the etkey file from etmain folder so I start ET back up join a server now I have my new shiny etkey and after 10 seconds it kicks me because of a pb auth failer so I have to wait the 2 minute ban and rejoin then as I rejoin pb does all its authing with the master server etc which causes my conenction to drop and IRC MSN and AIM all disconnect which then makes them all reconnect as I have auto reconnect enabled and this means aim pops up over ET and MSN has a little notification popup over ET which then makes ET go dark as my ATI card doesnt like anything popping up over a full screen game… ya I know its very annoying and I bet you wished I used full stops but this isnt a ideal world …

anyway anyone have any ideas how to fix this pb sucky problem?

For starters, you should ALWAYS close anything that can interfere with your game before you even consider running it.

Downloads, Virus Scanners, IM Programs, Apps etc… anything. The only thing I tend to leave running in the background is iRC, ASE, Winamp and whatever webbys I currently have open. Any work i’ll just save and close.

Another thing is, try and find out the /pb_cdkeygen or whatever the cvar is. Afaik, this is basically just a direct Delete Old Key - Replace with Valid New command. It deffo is /pb_cd<summit> or key<summit> :slight_smile:
