Replace current LB with the alpha one asap! I look forward to LB now just for the ending. If a forward spawn was added behind the office building on 1st obj, and the barricade zone was less funnel-like… I’d call it picture perfect. That big open area that was added before the ev stop point is a bit bland too, I’d like to see more done with that last stretch.
Canary feels pretty good, but I feel like the 1st objective roof needs to be a less exposed entrance- maybe a more narrow ladder access, also liked the idea of a larger interior for the hack room as well. Overall beauty of a map, and the improvements done made a big difference. The long hallway portion could use a little more variety, maybe a side room? Otherwise I enjoyed the objective areas.
Battersea is a bit akward to play still. I feel like it’s too open and too grindy. The 1st obj could benefit from a larger structure housing the plant obj I think, and the last objective feels much too exposed and TDM oriented.
Again I really think all maps would benefit from forward spawns as often as possible. It’s the only way to really add any dynamism to where the action takes place.

so the new patch is out?
Well, I haven’t played xT in a long time, and I just hopped on an empty server that had the map Canary wharf running… damn. Seriously, the art team is doing an amazing job.
Even with my PC I dropped to 70 FPS with everything on ultra low settings… I was getting 125 to 140 in some parts. I did not check firefights. I was getting to pissed off because for some reason this patch my tracking is gone, people seem to be jumping/glitching or something making it impossible to shot. I didnt notice it as much in a USA server but it was still there… Plus the spam was crazy. Hardly any true 1 v 1’s and I never felt like the better shot won. What a difference from 2 patch’s ago. Hit registration and game smoothness feels 100% different…
I hate to say it but I will wait until next patch. This one didn’t do anything for me. Its not fun to play and its a spam-fest. Not fun to play = not fun to find bugs or test. Good shots are not rewarded plus the performance, lag, glitching and rubber-banding is giving me headaches…
What changed in 2 patches?!? 2 Patches ago I was tracking no problem and raging faces… Now everyone is bouncing around and it feels like floating hit-boxes…
The Medic in BF3 was way way way more powerful then the Medic in xT… How can BF3 have 50 guns and be somewhat balanced but xT has 4 and its crazy unbalanced and hard to shot and track. One answer - The game is confused. It doesn’t know what it wants to be. It wants you to use Crosshairs but also have a hip fire game play. Now what happens - They will add optics right? Sure because that is what COD and BF3 did and it was the only way to use some of those guns.
If I or my friends wanted to play BF3/4 or COD we would be playing that. We bought the Alpha thinking it was going to be a highly competitive comp shooter with a touch of ET/QW/RTCW. There are already F2P games out there that look like the direction this game is going. I and a lot of people stop playing those games because they are spam-fests, cross-hair, spread, crazy recoil games that take less skill aim and first to see type games.
FYI I basically refuse to use iron-sights on all games COD and BF included. I get optics as fast as I can. Red Dot or 3.4x always…
Can you imagine if BF3 did away with suppression, increased Head-shots to 4, used ET Maps and smaller 6 v 6 or 8 v 8 servers!?!?!
Can you imagine if xT reduced spread/Movement spread, got rid of all class obj, made medics useful, forget about stupid cross-hairs and use falloff damage and have good maps that involve teamwork and also work to make it possible to get over 70 FPS on a map, while making a highly competitive team based F2P shooter will small very accurate hit boxes that will draw tons of people but also have a panzer and grenade for less skilled players plus an engy class that can do engy things like set 2 turrets and help his team do objectives all while rewarding skilled players but yet be very balanced because of ROF, fall off and damage tweaks?

Feels like the same for me performance-wise.
That’s your old ET thinking. You want the medic to be rambo, but what is wrong about the Soldier being it?
I wouldn’t worry so much about balancing, as this can be easily adjusted over time and yeah in terms of ‘balancing’ I can acutally say Beta without a bad conscience.
Agreed.
Crosshairs? I think you used the wrong word here…

Yeah, red dots all the way. I also can’t stand IS. But red dots are coming.
I could imagine perhaps, but if the Xt happens what the majority expects it to be is another question…
O_o i saw nothing drastically different with him. in fact, i had a blast with him tongiht
2. Canary Wharf - all those pipes and high places, makes the lack of any proper jumping mechanics balls-achingly obvious :(
Checked out CanaryWharf with Volcano, looks pretty awesome, very impressed.
There are some areas of the map where it seems that youve (SD) embraced the jump sniping aspect of vassili.
And I think thats pretty cool… unless it was an accident

all of this. i feel it a lot during battersea too
That’s the whole point. You misunderstood my post. It was sarcasm.
He ain’t truely broken as in, he’s incapable of doing anything. It’s the exact way around.
His weapon damage is overpowered to the max, 3-4 kills in a row with him is nothing. Not even mentioning the fact that’s regardless whether those 3-4 kills are Fraggers or something squishy. He needs to be nerfed a little. Because the amount of insta kills with him are insanely high.
