I had no clue, I don’t check nexon since logging in every time is just annoying when I only intend to glance to see new threads it is just too easy here. Didn’t see new feedback threads or patch notes so I found out today and I probably won’t be on today.

OK So …

Empty server cause even the ones who still stick over here don’t stay …
Maps are still boring as hell … choke points, small size, few semi-alternative ways, poor objective design … make me leave for good for the moment …
I play few days in the week like this to get fun few “minutes” maximum an hour and I’m bored, asking myself what the game will be in the futur … with clearly no big hopes …

I don’t like your maps and objectives design !
I don’t know where the idea to cut the maps and make them smaller than ever come from, people don’t feel anymore involved in something and never try to work together, this is just a bunch of boring maps …

Feel extraction like a popcorn FPS for the moment …
issue number 1 : MAPS ! (small, to small and really to short, 2 main obj is clearly not enough, no real capturable spawn, and nothing interesting … )
issue number 2 : Classless objectives designed for dummies (capture zone / new hack system / press F to win )

my last 2 games:
1 prepatch and
1 postpatch was in victoria and I died like 100 times (exagered) couldnt get out of first attacker strech ( where is the lifter that doesnt work).
idk whats happening latetly cant kill anyone and im dying of few shoots.:S
I raged quit after 5 minutes today:mad:
I think I need a Break doesnt work for me XT right now

i dont know why anyone is playing the old maps at all. its fun playing all of the new stuff, but it will get stale pretty quick.

im kind of in shock that there isnt anyone playing at 2:30 est on a saturday

Prime time + new patch and server are empty …
Player retention is near 1% … without something big this game is born dead

Disappointed to see empty servers on a saturday night, almost as if the gaming community had better things to do with their time :’(

Anyway, not played all the maps yet but some random feedback nonetheless;

  • Battersea seems cool, though I’m still not a fan of sequentially opening sections of the map up based upon breadcrumb objectives.
  • Canary wharf looks stunning, though last objective seems fairly weak.
  • Victoria - wtf was the idea of removing van access to the side of the first objective. Old choke point has come roaring back, only broken in a match today by the arbitrary (timed?) spawn location move.
  • Vassili - no mention of a nerf on his heart sensor??
  • Front end changes are nice, the skins dont do much for me, but the paintjob on the guns is reasonable.
  • The end of round pointathon is a bit BF3/4 and gimmicky, guess the idea is to make folk feel like absolute hero’s even if they finished in the losing team with a k/d ratio 1:10.
  • Would have preferred to see some maps based upon a classic doc run, just for the hell of it.

Anyway, finish on the point i started with, just disappointed i cant get to play the game as much due to player activity. Not all of that can be laid at SDs door - using myself as an example, I bought, installed and played NS2 and have played it for about an 1hr, dont see myself returning to it. Ditto with Dayz. Ditto with World of Warplanes.

In short, given the massive choice of games it’s incredibly difficult to come up with a game that will immediately attract someone in and keep them fully engaged, especially when that relies heavily on teamwork.

Difficult nut to crack.

It came from a few vocal wannabe forum leaders who thought they could gain something by proclaiming a new way of castrating maps. There were only about 4-5 of them, you know them, but this was enough for SD to decide this was what the people wanted so they went for it. Same old story.

err, before we go too mental - the maps before were “LONG, NARROW, LINEAR and BORING”. Given the choice, i’d rather play a short narrow, linear and boring map than a long one.

Also there was a poll which pretty much everyone in closed alpha completed asking about number of objectives and time per map. Do you honestly think that anyone is satisfied with the current maps and got ‘what they wanted’. I didnt, and i voted for 2 objectives and roughly 10min doable map (15min max time).

Whether you look at RTCW or ET, for competitive play maps with 4-5 objectives where never viable on SW. Are you seriously saying that ‘short’ one or two objective maps like ICE, Frostbite, Beach and (for the ET’rs) Radar are poor maps? Of course not.

So whether it’s long or short is immaterial. What matters is making non-linear maps that are interesting and suited to the style of play - be that 64 man pubfest or 5v5 FF SW…

Between 5 min and 40 min there is huge difference, and even if there is only 2 main objective they need to be pretty solid it’s not really question of number. And here objectives are just a big joke !
And I’m agree with ashog on this point ! maybe just LB was to long.

Absolutely not an insult but you are pretty much quoting and dissecting every post you don’t like.
And i’m not really raging, i’m just really angry about how the game turn, every patch getting worse …
Before the agnostic objectives all was fine. And now servers are empty … so ! I think there is a huge problem.

DayZ for just an hour? Well, i guess not all tastes are the same, but DayZ is a true milestone in FPS gaming imo. The loot concept is just great. (correct me if there were previous titles with similar loot concept, i am sure there was, but this was the first FPS game where i saw this in action so nicely and which got fairly mainstream now).

And erm … there was a new patch? goes and reads the forum (must have missed that one).

Please keep commenting on how bad it is to have such short games, for me 3 objectives is the minimum, 2 is boring as hell.

Apparently we weren’t vocal enough about how bad the gameplay was in Trainyard, so all maps were cut in half.

Wasn’t there a poll too? I voted for 3, but the problem is that every map feels entirely like an objective camp. This is due to lack of contestable side objectives that open/close significant obj routes, and no true forward spawns. Also the fact that most objectives are extremely exposed and there’s never much separation between combat zones. I’d rather have those things come first, as a 3rd obj would not solve the actual problem with maps.
