well, i need to be able to switch back and forth with the patches, for league play and pub play, is there an easy way to do this?
patch switch
Install ET twice (into different folders obviously) and patch one of the installs but not the other.
Create a second installation of ET into a different direcotory.
Don’t forget to:[ul][]Copy the “etmain\Profiles” subdirectory (this includes your settings) to the new installed ET.[]update Punkbuster manually with pbweb.[]Create a second shortcut on your desktop for the new version.[]Copy all downloaded map .pk3s from your old etmain-subdirectory to the new one.[/ul]
Actually, you can run two instances of ET on the same computer in windowed mode. Its laggy, framerate sucks, but its possible. =)

hehe, i found a tool that makes it possible to switch between 1.01 and 1.02 with ONE installation of ET!!
http://www.babylonbase.de/downloads/ETswitch.zip
(haven’t tried it myself but it should work)
That “tool” is just two batch files and the files et.exe and mp_bin.pk3 for version 1.00 and 1.02. I can’t see it working unless you also replace the .dll files with the correct ones, at least not on vanilla servers…
:moo:
really? as i said i didn’t try it (cause i don’t need it!!), but if it is like u say then it’s crap … :disgust:
The correct DLLs [for the client] are in mp_bin.pk3, and they’ll get extracted and overwrite the old ones if the checksum doesn’t match the checksum that the server has (e.g. 2.55 vs. 2.56.) This will be a problem with the qagame (server) dll, though.
