Actually fact not moving gives you better accuracy and your gun the more you move the more you accuracy will decrease so try to not bunny hop and jump to much
Panic Hopping
(Again) Practice reduces innacuracy during bunny-hops. When jumping forward all you need to do keep your target under fire is move your mouse down as you’re going up, and up as you’re coming back down.
Personally, I like it. It increases my headshot chances from 10% to almost 90%.
There are many people who are racist. Doesn’t make it any better because many are it.

And i know its not just me too, i could point you to 1000’s of videos of famous/really good players that do this aswell.

That’s just sick. How in the world do you compare something as novelty as jumping around to a pressing social issue like racism?
sprinting also makes enemies harder to track, remove it!
or just replace all mercs with tanks.
id suggest trying quake with air control. it gives you a good lesson of aim vs movement and attacking vs dodging.
once you learn to track well you welcome anyone using jumps offensively as you deal full accuracy damage to him while youre still able to dodge and hes not.
The solution to panic hopping is shooting them. It’s that simple. They make themselves easier to hit.
Jumping is a perfectly viable way of avoiding enemy fire. Anything you can do to throw off your enemies aim is a good thing. I don’t think purely hopping around will help you too much though, its rather predictable. Try mixing in random jumps and ducks while strafing left/right.
Also note that while jumping reduces accuracy, iron-sighting drastically, if not completely, nullifies that effect.
Jumping around is a very viable tactic in many FPSers.
These guys use to be so easy to take down but I got rusty dealing with people who didn’t use these cheap tactics. It’s not really that effective, at least not if you have some range on the guy but it is annoying. When they start doing this just start jumping back to get some distance and aim high on them.
Personally I feel like the punishments to accuracy should be greater when you jump, at the very least when you jump your accuracy should suffer, but as you descend it can return to normal.
Sure, it’s easy to counter once you realize that’s what they do in every encounter, but still, it’s stupid as hell.
I wouldn’t like to see the bunny hopping stopped, but some sort of increased bloom on the shots would be good?
Maybe the game could check to see if they are long-jumps or wall-jumps and not penalise those.
Only the panic-y bunnies would be affected…
It’d be a bit hard to do that without having some sort of weird bug, I think jumping could add a bit of bloom to your accuracy, and as you descend from the peak of your jump it disappears.
If you find other players deploying survival tactics stupid then I wonder who really is the stupid one here.
It’s not much of a survival tactic. I still destroy those guys with my K-121. It’s just really annoying and a stupid tactic. It hinders the jumpers aim just as much as the defendant.
Either the panic hoppers are insane for doing something that doesn’t work over and over again or you are deluded for believing that.
Then obviously you’re complaining for nothing. If you’re whining because it’s an “annoyance”, that’s just petty. Vasilli is an annoyance to me, do I complain about it, no. It’s an FPS game - you can be annoyed.
It’s not a “stupid tactic”, it’s just like strafing around the opponent, except off walls.

Sniff is our prime example when it comes to “jumping around”, his aim was far from hindered and his survivability was guaranteed 9/10 times.
@wolvie so that’s why people buy custom controllers for consoles to jump a lot in cod?
I think that using skilled movement like Sniff is an excellent example of how movement SHOULD be in this game, but I think what most of the people in this thread are referring to is the people who spam the jump key on flat ground.
It is true that some of the best players in Dirty bomb and games of the like use skilled movement (like Sniff), but they certainly don’t just spam the jump key. There is a huge difference between the two.
@Supa that is exactly what I am referring to. I feel a lot of people in this thread are misinterpreting what I was saying. Which probably to my own fault for the short initial post anyways.
Quake 3 disagrees with you there as jumping and shooting is exactly what you do in that game
It’s also an extremely valid tactic with Vassili or Redeye as well to get angles and shots you normally can’t get while decreasing your chances of being shot (I am personally not into fair duels).
Is it annoying to watch a person appear to have their shoot button tied to their jump button (which tends to happen for all the shotgun users)? Yeah, a bit. But they are sabotaging their own chances of winning while only gaining a slight chance of survivability as it’s harder to consistently hit their head.
I just laugh at people who see you, start hopping with the shotgun and firing. They do get kills often enough with it to make a bad habit but that’s all it is.
Just laugh a bit yourself and move on since they won’t be killing you very often.
