own tank model

(Ryan) #21

well nothing too serious, the front is a bit walktrough, no turret and you can walk under the wheels :stuck_out_tongue:

But thats just ok then, cause I dont think ppl want to redownload all churchill maps anyway :stuck_out_tongue:
Don’t like it? dont use it

(ischbinz) #22

maybe shrink your model a little bit - so it fits better to the clipped areas
i did that - only 2 areas can walktrough - the gun and the rear of the turret

(stealth6) #23

couldn’t this be done with a map script?
Would save on pk3 size

(kamikazee) #24

I’m not saying it is impossible to do with a map script and fake brushes, but it could turn out to be tiresome.

In the end, it might be best to give your tank model its own name and only use it in custom maps, unless you are intent on releasing a mod with fixes for most official and thirdparty maps.

(IndyJones) #25

wouldn’t be better editing official .map, then compiling and then adding it to z_mapname.pk3 ? the map would be around 3 mb i think, and most servers usually have 1-2 official maps…

(Ryan) #26

well, if someone could help me with that?
I guess its a standard code change for all churchill replacements?
And the same block of code woujld be used for all maps using a churchill?

(IndyJones) #27

i think you could add “spawnflags 2” to model and you would have fully clipped tank… give it a try maybe?

(Ryan) #28

I don’t have any mapping expiernce or even have radiant installed, if someone else could do this, cause I also have no idea about coding either :P.

All I know from coding is copy and edit ^^

(aaa3) #29

If we are using the original terms; then its either Tiger II or Tiger B or Königstiger :infiltrator:

(zenith-ply) #30

Hey guys. The final tiger release had issues of clipping when the model was put together using “attatch to tag”. In the example map for rtcw, the moving model consisted of several script movers, moving at the same time. I think this clip problem occured because of redundant spawn commands, or that clipping tag models requires the model to be made as a mod (created having its own folder) as opposed to just a prefab. I could be wrong. I may try some things in zbrush instead of milkshape ion the future to see if it makes a difference. Feel free to tear up the model parts of the pk3. There’s instructions on how to delete all the stuff you don’t need. I understand how the size of the tiger pack could be confusing though.

btw, I hope you aren’t using the original tank model, it’s beyond bloated polywise and not as nice looking…

ischbinz if you accomplished a succesfull tag model with perfect clipping then hats off to you. Great texture job on your model.

(ischbinz) #31

nice to see so muc response

about the tags -
i think they are okay - the tank works on our server on very much maps:
vanice
fueldump
oasis
uje (the map where you must steal the 8 fuel canister)

but on some maps you must change the skin -

btw i have a new version running on our server -
with 3 diffrent skins
snowstyle
desert style
standart

and its only 1,2 mb - i used jpg files for textures now

about clipping -
i cannot change the clips - otherwise i have to make own map versions :frowning:
but well i think my idea was a success - delete this ugly churchill from the et-world

but well i think my idea was a success - delete this ugly churchill from the et-world :)[/QUOTE]

I dont think that churchill is ugly at all lol

(-SSF-Sage) #33

Yeah imo it’s a lot prettier than yours, atleast what I saw from those pics. No offence, but the churchill is a professional model.

(ischbinz) #34

sure sure - but i don t like the churchill - its ugly itself - not the making of it :>

btw i m not good @ texturing

(Ryan) #35

I am almost done with replacing the jagdpanther with the KingTiger
I need to raise the model a bit because it’s sunk below the ground surface.
After that I need to aplly some textures and it should all be done.

I’ll get back here in 1 hour or so.

1 hour and 30 minutes later

I succesfully replaced the jagdpanther with the KingTiger II
U can download the .pk3 (4.18MB) from this website:

http://77.248.113.238
go to DOWNLOADS
and then TANKS

u can play it on 77.248.113.238:27960
(You should still manually download the file tough, cause it is an optional download)
Come check it out !!

(shagileo) #36

No images :frowning:
Images would be cool

(Ryan) #37

I found a small problem
The tank in oasis, standing in the corner, also changes the turret.
But only turret :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll fix it.

Damn, its harder then I tought.

I replaced the rest of the tank to match the changed turret, but the turret is still attached to the OLD jagdpanther tag. And I can’t see WHY.

Could someone give a hand with this?

(ischbinz) #38

just a info - another tank is released of me

now a t34 - replaces the jagtpanther

maybe its okay - about the color - its green - the picture shows another version with desert style :>

p.s. i think on oasis the mappers don t work with tags - so the position is set with map coordinates (not sure with that) but this explains yours and my trouble with the jagtpanther model)

you can dl it on our dl area on www.eco-fairplay.com

(nUllSkillZ) #39

Wow, looks good.
Great work.
Is it for Eastern Front Mod?

(shagileo) #40

looks good indeed.
Though, as you said, the screenshot shows a very shiny and too bright tank. Is it also like that in-game?
