every time it comes up. i updated my drivers and it still doesnt work i need help guys dis is pissin me off  …thnx!

Windows XP doesn’t have built in OpenGL support.
You need to download the latest drivers for your video card.

here’s some places to look
nVidia (geForce cards)
ATI (radeon cards)

If that doesn’t help, go to driversguide.com

Good luck.

(damocles) #3

And if you are using the default monitor drivers, be sure to update them too, as I had that problem with wolf (took me bloody ages to realise that somehow openGL didn’t like the combination of default windows monitor drivers and my monitor)

it still doesnt work

Please gives us more information about your system.
I believe you have a P2 with a Voodoo card.

If so, search the internet for Amigamerlin (or Amigasport) drivers for your voodoo card. I believe latest version is 3.0

Try going here: http://www.3dfxzone.it/

Note: Some parts of the site may be in italian, try using Google Translate (or Altavista Translate) on it.

(DrDeemer) #6

Try this
remove the etconfig.cfg file in your profile folder and start fresh. Just remove it from the folder and save it on the desktop or somthin.

this is the default path

C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\profiles\YOURPROFILENAME\etconfig.cfg

if it starts ok for you. Be careful not to set your screen resolution higher than what your card can handle.

good luck

it didnt work… any one no were i can get a nvidia riva tnt2 update??

(McAfee) #8

We really need to know more about your system, full specs. Processor, Ram, Video Card, Operating System, etc.

If you don’t have a voodoo card, It appears your windows still had some old drivers lurking in there. Clearing them out could be a problem.

The Latest nVidia Detonator drivers work for TNT2 cards too.
Go here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

I know this may sound crazy, but try going back to some older drivers. I had a problem similar to this, and when I went back to some old drivers it worked fine.

The referances to 3dfx in the console are a red herring. It’s just old code left over from Q3 (or maybe even Q2). Everybody gets those messages, you just don’t bother reading them. :drink:

And a TNT card would probably be better off with an older driver, the latest probably won’t do any harm though, just take longer to download.
