When someone racks up 31K points in an objective round and is joking on the chat that they are only playing Dirty Bomb because they are working around their 3rd VAC ban…it has gotten pretty bad. The 31K alone should cause an administrator to think that someone is either masterfully awesome or they are cheating bad. Should take about a minute of spectating to figure it out. You could probably clear out about 20-30 cheaters an hour doing this. Getting booted in the middle of a round would probably make them a little less interested in coming back.
On Reporting Hackers ~ The Best Way to Report Hackers
This is really sad to see. Also sad to see “dissenting” posts being buried or users making such posts getting banned. Might be an indication this game’s been designed from the beginning as a short-term scam. I hope not, because I love playing it in spite of the rampant hacking. You never know though.
And for the record I do send in reports about hackers. Always get a response saying they can’t disclose action taken but will look into it. Not very reassuring.

Please tell me which user was banned for making a post that was breaking the no naming and shaming rule? Also, if any dissenting posts become buried, it is because either the community gave it enough dislike votes or because the thread was locked due to breaking forum rules.
The only real problem I have with the report ticket process are two things.
- Server name, the only way to get it is to exit the server then click through the different servers until you find the one that has the same players listed as you were just playing with.
- Need to give time in PST. Would it be so hard to allow the user to set a time zone in their profile and submit it with a local time that gets converted. Going to timeanddate.com is lame.
Server name doesn’t seem to matter so much. And time in PST is easy, just google ‘current time PST’ and work it out from that. I personally report hackers while I’m waiting for the game to end to pass the time!

I’m sorry, but the system is cumbersome enough that it isn’t serious. Tabbing out, clicking on their name, A little box comes up “report cheater”, click and maybe add some text would be a real system. This system seems to be in the “just enough to say we are doing something” category. See this all the time in corporations. I realize they say that this isn’t the final solution so they probably don’t want to spend a lot of time on it, but AC is never going to work 100%, you need a backup system so people can report easily.
And how do you report between rounds…generally as soon as a round end the cheaters vanish to another game and so their name doesn’t appear anymore to click on.

I can really understand what you mean, there should be an in game, quick, option to report, and I agree that this could probably be monitored by a bot to then soft kick and soft ban players to review how and what he was doing. I would love to automate this process and also use it to create a clean, fun community. A bit of swearing fine, but mobbing, talking trash and just trolling shouldn’t have place in a game like this.

…As far as doing the actually reporting, please use the guide linked here. Thank you for reading, and thank you for reporting any hackers you see in Dirty Bomb.
http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/10662/how-to-report-a-hacker#latest
You should probably change the url to the actual reporting page ( https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/requests/new ). The fields are pretty self-explanatory.
As it is, this post links to another post that links to a support page with links to reporting abuse which links to a post on how to report a hacker which link to another page where you can actually fill out a report. With the inane amount of hoops people are already required to jump through just to provide proof and a report all this is a bit much. I had to click through 6 pages just to get to the form.
@Ardez is there any chance that we can see the list of the players who got banned for cheating or other reasons ? I think it is an idea for players know if their reports are correct or it’s just a mistake/misunderstanding.
If the system for reporting cheaters is too easy to make a report, wouldn’t that give rise to a large number of reports from people who are just mad that someone else outclassed them?
Except for being historically a little difficult to find, now if you want to make a report, you: 1. have to take the time to go through all the steps, and 2. those people who would report as a knee-jerk reaction to losing might cool down and not make a report that wastes time for an investigation.
The way it is now, people who take the time to report are serious about their report in the vast majority of cases, I’d bet.
Right, so in that case, this is just passive damage control, not instructions on a new system. Thanks for clearing that up, but I would rather have a new system.
Or at the very fucking least, a removal of the punishment for leaving a comp game. Seriously @Ardez, can you even possibly defend ‘your guys’ for punishing us for leaving a comp match with a hacker, but not punishing the hacker?
And how come that idiot mission was allowed to remain, it is only forcing more casual players into comp mode AND EXPOSING THEM TO MORE HACKERS THAN THEY WOULD MEET IN CASUAL!!! You guys are slaughtering your own game
@immenseWalnut well you can always clear the mission and not do it. i have never goneon a comp yet. im waiting on the anti cheat
@HardCoreGamer44 you got the punctuation in the right place even though its wrong. no offense. but jeez, separate your statements. it was way dam harder to read.
True that, every time i have to actually search for how and where to report. And then hop thru loops trying to figure out what goes where.
Whore reporting thingie is so generalized that its made barely usable. Made for everything, works for none.
i will no more play comp matches until there is an Anticheat. Must play the whole match with an obvious aimbotter and get penalty for leaving.
What you do with your time is up to you, but there is Anti-cheat. If there wasn’t the problem would be much much worse.
I only reported one and it took me 30 minutes which involved going back to my footage, taking screenshots, uploading them. Tracking the server and all that. I met like 5 more hackers and I was like…NOPE. AINT GONNA SPEND 3 HRS REPORTING DEM, NA UH.
I played one of my last ranking matches against a hacker today. Guy was getting 100% head shots and calling everyone else cheaters in all chat. We ended up winning somehow. Good times. @Ardez is it possible to have some statistics published on the current ac? Eg how many people have been banned, how many via the interim reporting system? No name and shame, just an update on how hard you guys are working with the tools you currently have? It may increase the number of players using the report system.
Its absolutely idiotic. With the worst anti-cheat ever made to boot, hackers are in dream land.
100% agree. Make it thread readable by GM/staff only and that solves all the problems related to privacy/name-shame. DSLREPORTS.COM uses that format for their direct ISP contact/problems forum.
I reported a guy who was blatantly cheating, changing his name with every kill. After seeing that Nexon “closed” the issue, I saw the same guy playing on a sever a day latter. Last week, after calling out another hacker he responded with, “They want do nothing, so report me.”
