So the dude i caught hacking and acknowledged by the entire game (even his teamates who were enjoying having a hacker carry them) has a steam profile with no history other than dirty bomb… with 3.6 hours played of it…
On Reporting Hackers ~ The Best Way to Report Hackers
It works fine. It can bug or make a error randomly for private profiles but it is okay.
Remember to report cheaters fast until they change ID,avatar, main info and other informations.
I believe it is impossible to change a steam account’s steam ID
I think he was talking about name but said ID. And you’re right, you can’t change your ID.
Yeah, unfortunately the game is dead for me right now. The hackers are definitely winning this battle. I found the game fun for quite awhile, but the criminals are definitely running the city. I’ll check back in a couple months and see if it has turned around. I really was having a lot of fun, it’s a shame it has come to this.
The current report hacker system is really akward, complicated and takes way too much time and effort (Atleast 8 people out of 10 aren’t going to “waste” their time on writing a report of a hacker in F2P game). It should be just few clicks ingame + brief explanation -> SEND.
One of the biggest problems with the stance on cheaters itself is the fact that the game is f2p. It’s quite easy for a hacker to get banned by whatever anti cheat there is in place to then switch to an alternate account and continue cheating. At the end of the day whilst this is somewhat contravesial banning them does not bring an end to players cheating. If there were any stance I would take it would be something similar to what some other devs use to protect their players and to an extent their games.
An example would be serious Sam. If you pirated the game, a red scorpion would ruin your day every time you loaded the game up. It killed you every time and it was un-killable, making the pirating experience rather uncomfortable for the end user as they simply could not play the game.
I propose something similar. If a player is detected cheating, instead of banning them, perhaps a more annoying punishment would fit the crime. For instance, an idea I have is as follows:
- player gets detected using cheats
- detected player spawns into match to find his health ticking down exponentially
- cheater goes to medic, to find any form of healing is not effective
- player dies and cannot be revived
- rinse and repeat
Now the kicker here would be if they removed the modification/cheat, the game would then stop these effects on a player. I imagine its more annoying that a hacker cant hack effectively as opposed to an outright ban. Overall the system would punish the troublemaker until they behave.
Obviously what I’ve suggested isn’t going to sit well with some; there’s also the question of whether it’s possible to do real time cheat detection and punishment, let alone if it would even work. Some feedback on the idea is appreciated.
Sorry, but If I reported all the hackers I have come across recently I would have little time to play at all.
Not to mention, reporting one probably still takes longer, than getting a new steamaccount/game.
Yeah, and they don’t have to do it at all if you don’t report them. If a hacker is frustrated with a game(Continuously being forced to make a new account), then they are less likely to play it. It comes down to how much the playerbase cares about the community/game.
Once there’s context menu options for Hack->Hack Type in-game I expect hackers are going fade away quite a bit.
The current system isn’t as time consuming as people make it out to be. What it is, is badly integrated. I hope the built in reporting system shows up soon, because this is not going to last the game through any sort of lifespan.
Also, the View Steam Profile button is sort of useless when Steam Overlay continues to break every other time you launch (at least it does for me).
And yet they have enough time to complain on the forums.
Except that Nexon does indeed receive hacker reports and they are dealt with. Almost like people do have enough time to report hackers… They would just prefer to complain about a problem then help the publisher and community…
The only real problem I have with the report ticket process are two things.
- Server name, the only way to get it is to exit the server then click through the different servers until you find the one that has the same players listed as you were just playing with.
- Need to give time in PST. Would it be so hard to allow the user to set a time zone in their profile and submit it with a local time that gets converted. Going to timeanddate.com is lame.
Tbh I think a lot of players are overselling the hacking issue. I’m sure quite a few players have been accused of hacking, when they’re not. The majority of the player base is clean, it’s a small percentage of bad eggs that ruin it. The lack of ‘integrated’ anti cheat tools (by that I mean a more competent ac and the currently missing in game report function) means the player base is a lot more prone to finger pointing as it doesn’t appear the devs are combating the issue.
I’ve only encountered one player I’m certain of cheating, using an aimbot blatantly by getting snap shotgun head shots across map and instantly changing their position. Sadly I wasn’t aware of the report system in place so I didn’t deal with it properly.
Hopefully the devs will be devoting a significant amount of their time into making the report system functional. If there’s one thing that needs to happen there needs to be systems in place that ensure the longevity of the game. Whilst I’m going to avoid the almost expected call for stop releasing mercs fix ac, I would at least hope that we have a report function in game within the next month.
Also a de blog on the current report system would be nice, means players who don’t browse forums know how to deal with hackers aswell
You also lose all of your xp and credits when you are going to spectate mode. Happened today with pretty obvious vasili aimbot. Easier just change server.
As far as I can remember, you only lose them, if you are in spec at the end of the round/map, but I may be wrong?
Were you going to get all that much exp and credits vs a trigger/aim-bot ? Rejoin before end of round to collect $200 and pass GO.
Yes, I can confirm they do get reports and allegedly ban accounts. Their follow up queries are a bit kludgy but, eh…
