On board video x graphic card

(zbzero) #1

I have a problem last week and my computer blew and i loose my motherboard and graphic card, after that i bought new computer parts but not an graphic card yet and im running the game with the onboard graphic card.

My question is, how i can run 125 FPS so solid right now with an internal graphic card compared to the old computer who was using an external??

Old PC specs:

AMD Phenom II x4, 8GB ram and geforce 9800 GT

New PC specs:

Intel core i5 3570, 8GB ram and the intel HD graphics integrated.

Im asking that because im going to buy a new graphic card, and im worried to have some unstable fps in some map parts like before. Did you guys think this not will occur with this new processor or an offboard graphic card (i means not integrated with the processor) will give me same results like before?

OBS: i have 125 fps in all maps/ all areas no matter if have 64 players on server and all of them are field ops calling artillery.

W:ET is more cpu dependent than gpu dependent and new Intel onboards are quite good, sounds like you got lucky

it sounds like you don’t really need a graphics card if your FPS is already that high

PS what made it blow up ? bad power supply ? overclock ?

(zbzero) #4

ì really dont know what made ity blow up but in the night before it happens was some eletrical power problem at my street and everything goes down many times during the night.

Mate im amused how it can handle ET so wel, its very impressive, i try set it to 250 fps to check the stability of the frames and it wont goes down 1 frame, i allways had some kind of fps drops in some areas like in goldrush axis spawn exit ( near at the barrier) and it wont goes down 0.1 frame.

Can’t tell how well your intel gfx card performs… but I doubt it does create high quality.
I would suggest to get nvidia card.

I will get a nvidia card (thinking in get gtx 650 ti) but i didnt notice any difference in quality with et my friend.

(Nail) #7

I just got a GTX 650ti recently, I’m happy with it

(Nail) #8

Latest Intel graphics adapters cover OpenGL 3 and shader level 4.1, so not so shoddy

btw, you should invest in a surge protector

(zbzero) #9

You have any drops in FPS Nail?

(Nail) #10

not in W:ET a bit in DB, but I have an old Q8200 CPU

(Petbark) #11

I would guess a power surge from the street problems.

Always a good idea to turn PC’s etc off when power keeps going on and off in the street as it surges and kills PC quite well, know this from experience.

Get HD7790 in that prize range, it’s better than Gtx 650 Ti. Plus you will get Tomb Rider game free with HD7790

However, if you have extra 30 euros, get Sapphire HD7850 1GB version instead!

i have a bad experience with ATI before and idk if will have an control pannel like nvidia has, im afraid it not will work with ET like iwant, this game is the game i most play, maybe i will like DB like ET but i really dont know, others games i install play for 1 week at maximum

(Mateos) #14

Well, there’s a panel, but it doesn’t work (at all). Tested.

(Dragonji) #15

Yeah, Catalyst Control Center is terrible, better get GF if the model you want to buy is not much worse than the similar one (in price aspect) from AMD.

(Indloon) #16

Why would a person buy a video card for it’s driver interface, if it’s badder compared to other card in that prize range? >.<

As being owner of HD7970, I can say that I haven’t had any problems with Catalyst Control Center at all, card driver works charm and I can run every game on maximum settings on decent frames.

(zbzero) #17

With that graphic card you dont need an processor, did you?
Why you should need an simple control pannel!!!

(Mateos) #18

Because the panel of NVidia allows on older games to enable non-native settings, likes Anisotropic filtering, AA; And disabled manually some other settings for recent games that the dev was lazy to add ingame or in the config files.

On my previous laptop, I was able to run newer games thanks to the NVidia Panel at a decent FPS rate.

(Dragonji) #19

One should choose Nvidia over AMD for one simple reason: support. Better panel is one thing, the other is that Nvidia usually provide better drivers than AMD. Worse GeForce can beat better Radeon because of that, in performance of course
