OMG (revive, medic spam, and medic rush)

(cosmopolitanSponge) #1

I have never seen so many medics… (4 bonesaws and 2 auras) and omg… it is over powered… if it’s possible, could you please lower the start-up revive? (by that I mean lower the hp for quick revives, right now is like 50-60 right?) jeeze… they rush so fast and they just revive one after the other… it’s extremely annoying and painful to watch my team (mostly skyhammers and arty’s) just try to rush them while I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO IS TRYING TO REVIVE THEM AND SAVING MY !SS AT THE SAME TIME :persevere: seen a couple more with auras, others with fragger with them (the lmg and the smg together… damn…) and… I think that is all I have to say… If you are reading this thank you and I hope you understand my rambling

(fubar) #2

Gib.

(cosmopolitanSponge) #3

@fubar Gib.?

(Ardez1) #4

Gib as in blow them up. You can’t revive somebody who jumps into the air and spreads their organs over a 10 meter radius.

Also, this is primarily because the follow mercs are free to use. Skyhammer, Aura, Sawbonez and Arty. Which means most squads for players who didn’t purchase additional mercs consists of Skyhammer, Aura and Sawbonez.

People are now complaining about the lack of Proxy instead of too many Proxy because she is off rotation and many people didn’t actually own her.

(cosmopolitanSponge) #5

@Ardez sigh… sadly (I guess) skyhammers and arty’s were not trying or something… I mean they threw their artilleries I saw them, and I was just the medic who was just trying to pick them up and revive them, but ever since people are learning how to heal, it’s just a medic rush :persevere:

EDIT: some of the medic rushes were under the roofs and/ or they knew when the artillery was coming, nobody was fragger usually

(fubar) #6

Gib their bodies. You kill them, and follow up with an “execution”, if you want. Either by continuously shooting them or stabbing them with a knife. It forces the player to tapout and join the next spawn wave, thus… he can no longer be revived.

tl;dr Gib.

(cosmopolitanSponge) #7

@fubar if they rush with 4 medics and the rest of my team is dead… what can I do to kill… ahem… 4 FRICKIN MEDICS? while I am the only frickin medic usually on my team

(Buttback) #8

Like others said, get rid of their bodies.

Medic stacking is annoying, but so is stacking any other merc - just in a different way.

I am asking how? Whenever i try to charge in they bring in with 4 medics together AS I SAID BEFORE… sigh… guess i didn’t explain it well enough for people to understand

(Ardez1) #10

Don’t charge in solo? If you are the only medic on your team you should be near the middle/back of the group when the push starts. The moment you see a teammate go down swap to knife(increased speed) and get the player back up again asap. The biggest mistake I see medics making is that they try and fight the enemy with 2-3 downed teammates at their feet. You can swing a fight really badly in your favor with enough revives.

(cosmopolitanSponge) #11

@Ardez then there goes my point again, 4 medics vs. 1 me medic… do the math… sigh… it’s weird cause people look at my recent comment but they don’t look at my main discussion

Again I guess people didn’t understand what I meant

(adeto) #12

Its a fasted team based objective shooter. If you can’t handle the concept of medic-trains, please go back to CoD12 or CSGO.

Advice is free on the internet, no problemo.

(Szakalot) #13

AoE mercs work wonders against medic stacks. let them revive those pieces!

(Zenity) #14

If you have three teammates who can actually kill things, you can overpower the medics. If you have three useless teammates then it doesn’t matter if you are going up against 4 medics or 4 Artis, you’ll still lose.

It is a team game, and medics are part of the reason why yoloing against a group of four is usually a wasted effort. If your team isn’t with you, just fuck them and focus on killing the occasional straggler. Or switch to fragger and blow them all up if you want to try and be the hero.

The team focused nature of the game can be a blessing and a curse, especially right now where casual games are usually very unbalanced. This is much less an issue when 90% on a server run around like headless chicken, which will probably be the usual situation on casual servers after the release of the game.

(Morty) #15

Step 1. Pick Fragger
Step 2. Throw a granade

Problem solved

PAY for Fragger TO WIN. I will do that too after a lot matches. Maybe after 400 matches I have enough credits.[/left]

(Reddeadcap) #17

@cosmopolitanSponge This looks like it has to do with the fact they changed the free rotation to Sawbonez and Arty, while I really like newer characters being available on free rotation there’s still the issue that by default we have a medic and a fire support available. Sure, their healing and artillery abilities work differently but in the end they both fill Skyhammer’s and Aura’s general role.

I’m hoping they’ll add another assault, maybe Nader or Thunder and have rotations have one merc of every class archetype available.

(Kroad) #18

problem with reviving is that it’s risk free due to the immunity the dead person gets upon revival (=human shield) and it takes way too many bullets to gib someone if they don’t die with their head facing you

(srswizard) #19

The damage a downed player tanks, before getting gibbed, seems to be balanced with the idea that multiple players are expected to be shooting at the downed player at the same time (competitive environment), which is obviously the right way to do it, but it gets really frustrating in pubs when your team mates are oblivious about gibbing, or just don’t care, and you’re the only one shooting.
And like you said, If they have a pocket medic and they fall down with their head out of your line of sight, it’s often impossible to gib them in time before they get revived again.

Something should be done about the seemingly random downed animations.

the problem is that in both comp and pubs, if you encounter multiple players, you’ll kill one, and then if you finish him, the others will kill you before you manage. If you don’t try and finish him, he’ll be revived anyway

still takes time to finish someone even with multiple players shooting, especially when that player is far away (killing someone in comp who’s really far from you or your teammates has 0 impact on the game, just padding stats for both you and the enemy medic), and while you have multiple players shooting at the downed target (assuming he isnt revived instantly ofc), his teammates are shooting you and gaining the advantage
