Why does a Shotgun have the same accuracy and power and distance as a sniper rifle? I can’t tell you how many times I got blown by a shotgun from half way across the map. But I feel like this weapon need some adjustment.

Why do people always defend something that find as amusement and abuse it to the end of times? Because it boost their ego to make them feel good about themselves as they spam it to oblivion for kills.
Reminds of me people who think Phantom is in a balanced state because they abuse him for KDA, wins, and to make themselves feel good about “how pro” they are. And yes, shotgun does have a ridiculous distance radius, and it needs adjustment. It’s a shotgun, not a rifle. But in this game, it’s both apparently.
Lol, I don’t actually use shotguns any more because they’re at such a disadvantage to automatic weapons. They can work, in specific play styles against people that are bad. Good players just won’t come close enough to you to let you use it. They don’t have anything near the range you think they do. Their damage at range is ok, but nothing compared to the output of a rifle or smg.

All I’m reading is knives are OP. Stop being so salty because you are getting wrecked by shotgun users, the range on them is nowhere near what you are claiming.
What is your definition of “across the map” ? Actually, the shotgun’s effective range is very short, even compared to other shooter games. They are dreadfully unreliable past 10m. Maybe at the exception of the anhuld-12, but it is still way below machine pistols on those range.
I may be wrong in your case, but generally that’s a complain generally made by newcomers. Once you will face players aiming well with any automatic weapons, they really fall into small usefulness. Due to their rate of fire (roughly 1.3 shots per second), if you miss your first two shot or if you’re firing them from to far and do not make enough damage, you’re dead, literally. Shotguns, yes, are noob-friendly weapons and it may allow players using them stomping other players using automatics. But after a certain skill point, they have very limited roles and purposes, which both need strong aiming and movements skills.
I think you’re comparing shotgun effectiveness in this game to shotgun ineffectiveness in pretty much any other standard fps.
The reason why they can shoot at such a far range is simply because it’s easier to kill people that way.
It also takes more skill If you miss that first shot or only get half of the pellets on target you now have a very angry fully automatic weapon breathing down your throat.
Incidentally, OP, video games tend to grossly misrepresent the range of a shotgun.

In good hands, in cs and battlefield series (buckshot/flechettes only, not slugs), shotguns were able to pull middle to long range kills in 3 shots, which is almost impossible here in DB (including with the TTK difference). They are not that ineffective in those games.
Remind me of BC2 where you could shotgun like a sniper AND i’m not exagering at all
I’d say the only shotgun with any decent damage at range
would be the Ahnuld. If I remember correctly, the shotguns
have pretty extreme damage drop off.
The shotguns are not even close to as effective as slug pump actions were in bc2. Not even close. You can’t skip animations to fire faster and it is not a sniper rifle without a scope as it was in bc2.
Slug shotguns in BC2 were hilarious. Some of the fastest guns I platted in that game were those. Just jump in a hardcore server and you literally oneshot everyone from any distance with 100% accuracy. The only reason to even use a sniper over it was the scope.
