Okay SD and Nexon, it's been a while, and you were silent. Now, can we please speak about it?

(Jostabeere) #1

Okay @RazielWarmonic and @stayfreshshoe .

Started the game 20 minutes ago. Joined a match, wasn’t thinking anything bad, and saw this:

http://puu.sh/nsx0b/ba2fd9802f.jpg

Is this how public, which is about more than the half of the game, supposed to look like? Does this define fun?

Can’t we get personal free-rotations, so not everyone plays the damn same merc every 2 weeks. Is this so hard and worse than THIS?
I know merc rotations are there for people to test mercs, but I doubt THIS is somehow productive and fun gameplay-wise, or even relevant to “team-play” the game advertises so big. Or a good enviroment to actually “test” mercs in a team-related game.
So, can we get a response if personal rotations are a possibility, or you don’t want to see them. And if so, why not.

(blufflord) #2

Atleast the game looks balanced right? Something postive…?

(BerylRdm) #3

Try to play only on min lvl 10 to avoid such situations. I’d like to see min lvl 20 servers…

EDIT: Well, but I agree that rotation system needs to be changed.

(doxjq) #4

I agree the free rotations are too tedious. Man when Stoker was on free rotation the amount of molotov carnage was just insane.

(blonk) #5

Running around on that server you might see [TRIPPED] quite often

But for @Jostabeere, it says [TRIGGERED]

…sorry. At least it’s a merc that can do objectives. It’s probably a nice social media plug to be able to announce the rotation mercs as a trio. Nader’s worse in my opinion, flippin’ nades errywhere

(Sinee) #6

No one likes the free rotation system. No one. No one looks at the free rotation system and is like “wow! This is useful!” And every time a new rotation comes out, the forum is flooded by complaints and also useful ideas as to how to go about it differently.

Right now, this system throws off already FUBAR match balance so bad. An inundation of a single merc makes that team extremely OP. Some mercs are more problematic than others, but most are problematic. Turrets around every fucking corner, mines every two fucking feet, 20,000 fucking nades flying through the fucking air, too many fucking rats running around with fucking shotguns, fucking minigun spam, it’s just too much.

This system is bending pub play over and fucking it right up the ass when it’s already bad enough as is.

(Ardez1) #7

As a heads up all players have access to a MINIMUM of 5 mercs at any time. with the credits granted at levels 2 and 4 you will have almost enough for a 30k merc. While buying one doesn’t promise 6 unique mercs most of these players will probably have 6 mercs to pick from. Nobody is forcing them to play Proxy, however they do have a good mix of alternate mercs they could be playing.

And I personally don’t see any issues with free rotations, even if they end up like this. You certainly won’t have any trouble remembering to check for mines by the time it is over :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to mention you JUST joined that game, did you try asking any of them to switch it up? People generally respond to that.

But look at how fast they repaired the first objective!

Well, it isn’t even released yet, but at the same time that is a solidly improper user of that meme(imo).

Also, not to say DB is the next CS:GO(It isn’t and I wouldn’t want it to be), but did you see the numbers they had on release? It was abysmal compared to it’s predecessor. Only over a year after release did it start to get big. You can never know in advance how a game will perform. DB has no base game or pre-existing community to build from besides SD’s followers from games like W:ET or Brink. So we’ll see.

(Feley) #11

Give people 3 Merc cases every 2 weeks.
One is objective specialist where you can get free objective specialist till rotation end-date expires, and 2 of the cases that are left are for any 2 mercs that aren’t Skyhammer, Aura or Objective Specialist… Same thing merc you get free expires on exparation day (Wednesday two weeks from when player gets case)

This is same as individual rotation, but people that own all the mercs won’t even get these cases as they don’t need them…

Also note: From case you can get merc you already own. It worked like that before, it should work like that now

Josta dats karma bro ^^ This is what you get for your hate to proxie’s xD

No, I’m telling you that you can’t tell what a game will be in the end based on what it looked like before release. Your expectations of where the game should be isn’t in line with the status the game(Open Beta).

You can do whatever you want with your time and money. That is why it is YOUR time and money. If you think it is worth your time to make stupid ‘memes’ as a response to people on the forums rather than communicate like an adult then that is up to you.

(blonk) #16

Maybe the game could hint or suggest to players what the team needs prior to lock-in? Could even go so far as to have a recommended squad or offer XP bonuses for shoring up gaps in the team, which could in turn build awareness of the team composition in preparation for ranked play.

My favorite thing is how the posts Merci/less make are both not constructive and not funny

(Matuno) #17

First off, it may present itself as “beta”, but any game that is fully open to join and already monetises its content is fully accountable as if it is a fully released game.

Secondly, even if someone starts with two mercs + purchased merc + 3 rotation mercs, as you can see, mercs on rotation are most often used. The past few weeks I’ve had a lot of fun (cough) dodging a wall of grenades coming my way, which is GRRRREAT if you like playing light classes.

You can’t deny that the free rotation heavily influences what people play. We’re here to tell the devs that we don’t like playing against too many of the same mercs, and we are pointing out that the three-merc free rotation is to blame for all this.

  1. Ask them to change.
  2. It’s casual. Leave the server if you have that big a problem with it.
  3. Minimum level 10 usually assures a good merc variety.
  4. Competitive
  5. The world has changed since the days of no open beta and paying full price to play in advanced. Deal with it. You can say all you want that it makes them accountable as if it was a full release, but it doesn’t. The system for releasing f2p games has changed significantly since it started. This is the new business model. Get players involved as early as possible. Open a cash shop to keep the servers up for all the players you are getting in early. If you get the players involved in development they might be more committed to the game in the long run. And as I said, deal with it.
  6. Were you here for the 2-merc rotations? Not going to lie, it used to be 2 mercs for free and 2 on rotation. That meant newbies would be using 3 of their 4 available mercs. 3-merc is quite a bit better then it used to be. While some people have a good point about individual merc rotations, it isn’t as easy as pressing a magic button. The programmers have a good bit on their plate relative to the size of the team. Not to mention this isn’t that big of an issue. It is usually the same people complaining about it.
  7. Also, did you try asking them to change mercs?

(Kingsley) #19

How about no rotations REMOVED
Yes rotation loses its appeal once you collect the mercs like pokemon (gotta catch em all). Ash Ketchum.

Personalizing the selection is too much. Anyway, when I started this game, rotation was the sht. It s the same feeling I got when there was a new merc release. Let those new players experience it, it’s random it’s free who gives a hoot, well apparently you. Its more of an investment and a feature for them, not you.

REMOVED

(Diosito) #20

Yeah, sure… pffft.
You made me laugh and almost pee my pants

Personally, I would like you (devs) to follow other criteria for the Free Rotation system, such as:

1.- Gameplay
2.- The mercs each player don´t own
3.- The mercs each player don’t use

All the above based on statistics in order to encourage players to use (buy) new mercs and find new ways to help the team and enjoy the game.

I want to believe that the current Free Rotation System collects information for statistical purposes to improve the game and It is not something that you have abandoned.

I’m pretty sure that you will not change, in the near future, the way it works… but, could you tell us, at least, if this will be the system when the game is released?

For a game based on teamwork this is just ruinous and ridiculous.
