Ok BF2142 demo and ETQW. Sorry but just gotta say it...

(Diecast5) #21

Not use it as in: Put it on your site as a smilie without letting me know. C’mon, I wanna know :)[/quote]

I’d like permission to use it! as well I would like to us it on my website !!!

Games are so expensive these days that people do identify with a particular brand because they know that they will get quality for their money. IMO ET was and is a fantastic sales medium for ET:QW. I know that SD is a quality developer after playing ET. I have heard enough about EA to keep my money in my pocket with regard to their games, and that is having never played one (well, not for years anyway).

Word of mouth is a very powerful thing, especially on the internet

Diecast5: Have fun with it

(Diecast5) #24

Thank’s

(SniperSteve) #25

I’m not sure if any of you remember, but a while ago I said that BF2142 will have the gameplay/depth of a mod for BF2, and around the same quality too.

(corvey) #26

That smiley rules. Excellent job on that one Rosone. It deserves it’s own thread and you not have wasted it on a BF2142 topic LOL!

I would like to spawn another animation off of that one sometime. If that would be ok?

(Joe999) #27

the whole 360 thing should be idiot-proof. return the game and get your money back, it’s not your problem.

(Zarkow) #28

Could people please stop refering to the BF2142-beta as an ‘alpha’ or ‘early beta’. It is neither. Spreading false ‘facts’ about a game to cover its flaws isn’t helping anyone.

(Keno) #29

What Zarkow said. Keep in mind that the game was due to be released September, only reason they delayed it was cuz QW was delayed.

(raztafar1an) #30

Not trying to throw more fuel on the fire, but it was announced today that BF2142 would include in game advertising. To me that is pretty ridiculous for a game set 135 years in the future. I don’t have a problem if it was done in BF2 because you can probably advertise Coke or something similiar and it would still fit in. On top of that, the price of the game should lower because advertising revenue should add onto the revenue received from game sales.

(kamikazee) #31

Bah. A lower price won’t make up for a moderate game IF their game stays at the same level.

(Joe999) #32

not only in bf2142, just read this on joystiq:

…to put in-game advertising in up to seven games, including Need for Speed: Carbon and Battlefield: 2142. EA Vice President for Online Commerce Chip Lange promised that this is just the beginning,…

promised? as if that were something good. they should have written “threatened” instead.

(kamikazee) #33

Huh, maybe they see it as a feature?!?
The ads alone will not make the games better…

An example would be the movie “Evolution”. At the start and up till 3/4th of the movie it’s just a “hmmm, not utterly bad”-movie. But at a certain point, bad things happen and they start their scientific mumbo-jumbo how a certain shampoo against dandruff could save the day. (Gues their favourite brand!) At that moment, it could be rated “retarded”. To make things worse: when the credits stopped rolling, they added a “we wash our hair with …”-scene with all the movie’s actors. Darn advertising guys!

(Lanz) #34

I will never EVER by a game with big advertising signs in it. Just to make my point clear, I wouldn’t buy ET:QW if it had advertising in it.

Maybe one day I’ll have to reconsider this decision when/if every f*ing game has advertings signs, but until then I’ll vote with my money.

(Svanire) #35

Everyone knows at EA

Business is first
Games are second
Community is last

And its a 8 man race.

(Keno) #36

IF the adverts are server-controled, im am for them. That is a good way to get sponsors to clans and tournaments and could ultimately have a very positive impact on the clan-scene.
But if, as in this case, the adverts are from a masterserver controled by EA its just pure sheit.

I got a BF2142 beta yesterday and the game had by far the worst infantryfeeling ive ever felt from a commercial game. I liked 2 things with the game, your footsteps inside a titan and the cool droppods. Everything else was shit.
Though I wasnt surprised, I played BF2 on the highest level for almost a year so I know how crappy the engine is. Splash could release any alpha they have, and it still would be a far better game than 2142!

(taken) #37

Hehe, it aint many “bf2pros” that like the bf2142 beta ^^

Just hope we get a ET: QW beta or demo sometime soon, im bored…

(Diecast5) #38

Same here man!!!

(raztafar1an) #39

The ads are static. The type of ads you get depend on where you buy your game from location wise. Say if you buy from a Best Buy in Ohio, you’ll receive adds from only Ohio-based companies that don’t compete against Best Buy etc.

(Zarkow) #40

SWAT4-ads are streamed.
