Of Medics

(Riftgarde) #1

Ever think Medics are played more because there is less chance of having someone file on you for accidentially killing them?

A Soldier can flame, panzer, mortar teammates accidentially.

An engineer has teammates playing footsy with his mines, or they lay on his dynamite trying to keep it warm for when it hatches.

A field op can accidentially blow up teammates with a misplaced strike.

The only other class that doesn’t have this problem is the covert ops, but he keeps getting gunned down by his own team because of the delay of the no shoot symbol.

I don’t think so… because unlike all those other classes, when I’m a medic I purposely teamkill. We all should know why… a kill/raise…

A lot of people still don’t know this trick yet… as I was just kicked for too many complaints today because someone was freaking out that I’m a friendly and shouldn’t be firing on him no matter what.

Firstly… it’s a hell of a lot faster than handing out packs…

Secondly… a medic does NOT get exp for a kill/raise. As I’ve been told people “hate medics who tk/raise for exp.” Tools.

sorry, got a bit off subject, but I doubt people play medics more as a less chance of a filed tk.

(weasel) #3

I play medic a lot, and I don’t find that people complain any less when you tk them. I’ll hit someone low on health by accident in firefight and kill them, then revive them to 100% health, and after they’re revived, they still file. I don’t TK/revive unless someone explicitely tells me that they want me to do it. Too many people file. I don’t mind the 0 XP gain, but I would mind a 3 XP loss. Once I get L2, packs usually aren’t a big deal anyway. If people are taking that much damage, enough usually die on their own before I get a chance to feed them packs, so I don’t run out.

(amazinglarry) #4

Well if someone has like 30 health or under I generally always tk/revive. And you’re right, too many people do file. But I always will when I’m L3 because of full revive, and if you got allies charging while you’re handing out packs, then you’re screwed… better to just knock em out, and bring em back and run away than to stand next to or more often times CHASE the person down who needs health with the packs. So I usually stop em by killin em, then bangin some full health to em through my syringe.

(Riftgarde) #5

They should put a timer on files.

The the file from the guy you accidentially killed 10min ago is gone.

I don’t think a tker would have the patience to wait 10min to kill a teammate. They would get their 6 files quick as usual and be kicked.

(kyleb) #6

i file for tk/revive because you are slowing me down and screwing me out of battle sense. wait for me to go down naturally before you try to revive me and in the mean time give me a damn heathpack or piss off.

(Majin) #7

Kyleb you noob.
Even if what they are doing is (to you) stupid and harmful, you should not be filing.

You file when someone malaciously attacks you, and ONLY THEN.

Stupid noob.

(amazinglarry) #8

Here here! :drink:

Nooooo! Not my battle sense! I’d rather be taken out in the next 2 seconds by an enemy so HE can get higher light/heavy weapons than by a teammate who doesn’t get any exp for doing it AND IT DOESN’T COUNT AS A DEATH FOR YOU!

For me tk/revive comes automatically from RtCW, where it was a common thing to do. Now I’ve got used to that the noobs always press F1 no matter how they were killed and in what circumstances and I only do kill/revive when I’m sure that the other player really knows that I’m there to help him.

(kyleb) #10

i don’t need full heath to get my damn job done and i don’t need some idiot wasting my time by tk/reviving me either. however, binoculars, of ammo, extra max health and the ability to spot mines all come in very handy. also i file for whatever i damn well please, if you don’t like it check your damn fire.

also, i may be a noob to this forum but i have been playing rtcw and et for as long as they have been around. my clan currently holds #2 and #3 in ogl openff and mp respectively. oh, and i generaly play med.

(Majin) #11

While you say you have played a lot, by the sound of it though, you have been playing like a jerk.

I highly doubt you have ever had a team that liked having you there.

(SCDS_reyalP) #12

ROFL, you play RTCW in competition and STILL don’t believe in TK/revive ? I agree that when there is a reasonable alternative, you should let people keep getting battle sense, but in the end it is about winning, and your chances can be much can be much improved by instantly getting someone to full health.

(kyleb) #13

na i don’t take issue with the tk/revive thing in rtcw, but we are talking about et here. also, i don’t get how you could say anything i have said makes it sound as if i play like a jerk, what in the world are you talking about Majin?

(Englander) #14

They both work the same way, infact you could say in ET the tk/revive is even better to use especially when medics can revive to full health in 1 shot of a needle.

(kyleb) #15

there is no battle sense in rtcw.

(amazinglarry) #16

no kidding… but you don’t seem to understand if you’re teamkilled it doesn’t count as a DEATH! And if technically you didn’t DIE I’m pretty sure you still get your precious battle sense.

(=SWAT=Shadow Fox) #17

Ok if you would rather go hiking with 2 hp then die and spam for a medic dont expect one to follow your foot steps. I can ussally have a needle in you before you hit the ground so you loose a whole 2 seconds. If thats to much for then thats just sad. When a teammate tk/heal you, you should feel great that not only did your teammate know you were low but searched for you to heal you and that your medic even knows what to do. OMG so many of those who play et, i wonder if most of them know how to scroll (noob way) or use the numbered keys. Remeber this, rambos never win the game, the team does and by filing on teammates for trying to help you is just not being a good teammplayer at all.

(kyleb) #18

the idiots who fire their mortar into a crowd, or bust out the torch/rl with teammates in front are trying to help too but they are being stupid and i sure as hell file in the hopes that they think a bit harder next time. also i don’t do the rambo thing, i am with my team and that where the damn medics should be too and have plenty of needles to revive the team when we do happen to go down in the fight.

oh and AmazinGLarrY, i have yet to get any battle sense shortly after a revive be it from at tk or not; hence i am reasonably confident that tk/revive does stop the count for battle sense.

(Englander) #19

kyleb maybe you should make a bind like,“Dont TK/Revive me iam too concerned with my battle sense”

Please forget about battlesense,it comes quicker if you stop thinking about it,if someone TK/Revives you be glad theres a medic whos looking after you.

All I can is with the attitude you have your not the type of player id like to see on my team.

XP and Battlesense are welcome sides to the game, but the priority is still working as a team and completing the objective. If that means getting TK/Revive for the benefit of the team and the objective then my Battlesense can goto hell.

And filing for TK/Revives is something id expect a noob to do,plus it will get you kicked from some servers.

([B]Visa) #20

There are definitely bad times for a TK-revive (many times when im covert in the middle of stealing a uniform and get TK-rev’ed) but most of the time it’s a good thing…

I don’t mind taking a few seconds out of my killing to fill up on health, it’s a good stuff…

And filing a complaint about a TK-revive is incredibly lame… No sweat off my back, when dumbass teammates file on me for that I just ignore them the next time they’re crying for medpacks or revives.

btw OGL is teh suck
