# of maps shipping with ET:QW? Mapping tools?

As an avid mapper i am wondering on the # of maps shipping with the game.

I am also wondering about the mapping tools, and will mapping tools be sent out with the game or will they come much later? Can you tell us how the maps are being made? Is is a brush based system (HL2)? Or model and terrain (BF2)?

Thanks for any input.

Thanks, that post was helpful and should be sticked, but did not say anything about # of maps being released, or when we can expect to see the map making tools.

Most of the tools should ship with the game. Other bits and pieces, and a bunch of the source media will probably be in a seperate pack which will be released after the game.

Maps are brush and model-based, like Doom 3. Our terrain is modelled, too (BF2 uses heightmap-based terrain, if I’m not mistaken).

tools will ship with game, I believe 12 maps were mentioned as being included

BTW search is broken for me…all i get is:
