Odd gun emplacement on Goldrush *Pics Included*

I play a lot on a pub server called NeedleFeast (http://www.langstas.com - server ip: 69.31.6.177:27960).

Well today I had just joined up, the current map was Goldrush, and there were only about 2 minutes left in the round. On my way to the bank vault I noticed something that I’ve never seen on this map. Just to the right of the large pillar in the courtyard above axis spawn there was a barrel with a gun mounted on it! I quickly took a few screenshots and attempted to see if you could actually use it. I never got a chance to see if you could or not. I was blasted by a panzer and couldn’t get back to the location before the clock ran out.

So… have any of you ever seen this or have an explanation?

*Note: The only modifications to these images were adjustments of the brightness/contrast and a resize from 1152x864 to 800x600.

Absolutely not. I noted exactly what modification was done to the original screenshots. I hardly believe that this gun would somehow appear just because I adjusted the brightness and size of the image.

My best guess is that some guy edited the goldrush.map and added the gun, compiled it under a new name and got it uploaded to a server with downloads enabled. Now everyone who connects downloads the .bsp (map) and there the gun is.
That is all I can think of :slight_smile:

I have seen this a few times.
The only abnormal pk3 files I have in my folder are very small campaign files, which I went through, nothing but the campaign configs.
No mods or anything running, on a pure server.

I kept getting killed and was never able to get close to it for long. I beleive I tried to use it, but couldn’t; but I don’t remember exactly.

Funny thing is, a lot of people say these things online, but own illegal software themselves. Not saying you do, that’s just a good phrase you got there. :slight_smile:

that same thing happend to me, I had screenshots but I managed to lose them. The turret was in the same spot, but it was a differant server.
