Odd error...

(shark) #1

Hi everyone, I was wondering about the new error I am getting to almost every server I go to.

“Valid CDkey not reaching GuidAuth server”

I’ll screenshot it if possible. Thanks a lot everyone.

PS - I have done everything from Activision’s guide on CDkey errors.

bump

I’m having this exact same problem…and funny enough I’m from edmonton too…any thoughts on what might be causing this?

All I wanna do is play ET :frowning:

Either two things. The GuidAuth server is getting swamped with requests and it doesn’t get back to your client in time, or your cdkey has become messed up.

For option one, the best thing you can do is disconnect and reconnect again. If it keeps coming up, try some of the stuff for option two.

If your key has become corrupted, you need to have ET generate a new one. You can do this by going into the server browser and turning off PB. Close the game and restart. Now, go back into the server browser and turn on PB. This will generate a new key for you, and you should be able to connect just fine.

I noticed this aswell it just started happening since the patch(well it started yesturday for me).You guys from Edmonchuck what ISP are you on?I live in Calgary and am on Telus.

Even though i only get this error on one server i have been able to connect to it?

/Me wonders if this is a regional problem?

If you have the same ISP maybe it’s because they are blocking the port needed to identify/authorize id

Like i said this is only happening to me on one server…ND80 the grotto to be precise.

One other thing i havent installed the patch and don’t plan on patching till TWL requires it.

Try using this command:

/pb_cdkeyreg

I have this problem sometimes, and the command sometimes fixes it. But sometimes the command generates no response from the pb server, so the problem doesn’t get fixed.

^—this command seemed to help me, I had to enter it twice but it did work… so thank you very much
