played oasis last night as axis had it pretty well covered until we discovered that allies had managed to plant the dyn on the outside of both guns
engy had no chance of getting there
surely this can’t be right

Oasis cheat or not
I would say it depends on how you look at it, I know the leagues treat it as a cheat, and it’s certainly somewhat unfair but on the other hand it proves quite good teamwork from the allies to pull it together and make the stack
That’s why it’s always good to plant a mine outside of the wall underneath each gun to stop the stackers. It’ll work cuz no one really expects mines to be there.

I consider it a fair tactic because as it’s been stated, you can place a mine or 2 at each stacking point. Not only that, but it is very easy to defend for axis. If you look for the stack and catch them doing it, you can take out at least 2 or 3 with a grenade or panzer because they are very vulnerable. The outside plant isn’t something 1 person can accomplish on their own, it takes a minimum of 3 for the north and 2 for the south, so to me, it’s good teamwork if they pull it off. I was playing Axis last night and Allies planted at the north on the outside. I was playing with a couple clanmates and we almost had it defused from the outside but then one of our teammates inexplicably threw a grenade out and tk’ed all of us :bash:
Its possable and is not a cheat. Its defo not a cheat. If u can stack up there u can plant. Simple as that
There are loads of these “cheat plants” but they arnt cheat plants. they arnt even bugs. djbob told me that they are not bugs…none of them.
If ur defence is so slack that the allies have time to make a stack AND plant ur teams got a problem.
it’s not a cheat it’s very difficult to pull it off but you won’t get invincible or something
Feel free to use it on pub servers if you can, don’t use it in league matches as more than 2 player stacking is illegal. Simple enough
Some plants are allowed, not all. The oasis TB2 ones are banned iirc. Althought djbob did say they were perposely left in. But its up to the makers of the league.
Any strategy which involves stacking burly men on top of each other is worth keeping.
As mentioned, if any team was able to plant at these hard to reach points they deserve it. Still never planted myself tho on Oasis, only ever been middle person panzer…
again tho, stacking is something alot of players overlook. Eg, on Radar. Allies can push in past the truck and instead of cutting underbridge or towards Axis fwd spawn a quick duck lets a couple of players up on TOP of the bridge so they can swoop both ways for the parts. Dito on the other side, under the parts the walls broke and nearly all clans we’ve played against use this tactic, quick duck and a flick up the radar gets you victory \o/
ya but those are just 2 man stacks nothing like a big 3-4 man stack outside oasis gun’s but then you should be suspicious if siddenly the allie team don’t seem to be anywhere and by the time they plant it you should have mowed them all down anyway
It’s a cheat. The map was designed so that the Axis are able to defend the guns from the central courtyard. Also defending the outside of the fort is just way to much ground to cover, and it was never intended for this to work.
Didn’t realise you were involved in developing this map Hydra, thanks for the insight.
Yeah, just like railgun was designed so that the Allies had to stay away from the Axis spawn. :moo:
If it doesn’t modify the games code, it cant be a cheat. It’s a tactic, one that is easily defended against too. If your team loses to this move, you deserved to lose.
is trickjumping treated as cheating? I don’t think the developers planned the oasis wall so that you could jump over it, I do and I feel no regrets, I’m not good at it anyway and you are vulnerable while running up there…
btw you can get into the dump over the defenses without cov ops and without a stack of people - is that a cheat as well?
Jumps like you find are normally left in for a reason, and in the case it wouldnt suprise me if they did mean to leave some in… its the small, easy to perform, hard to under pressure things that make competitions more exciting (See AUT v FIN (eg, n2y @ plan-b.at)). As for the Oasis central courtyard? Why would it have so many entrances/exits if its made so you dont defend them? Bit silly, id imagine its there to encourage the use of Mines, and the fact theres a nested MG with the ability to cover all 3/4. Also allows for more tactical approachs and if they werent there, or at most, Allies werent able to access the surroundings outside then it’d be a piss easy map for Axis (imagine an easier to defend Battery).
