I was walking through the Walmart software section the other day and a silver box caught my view. It was the Platinum Edition of Return To Castle Wolfenstein , which was pretty cool but that wasn’t catching my eye. What was catching my eye was in equally big print as the title was : With Enemy Territory. Does this mean that Enemy Territory is no longer a one hit wonder fluke that would be eventually swept under Activision’s rug? Does it mean that Activision will have more surprises for Enemy Territory fans in the future?
Now you can BUY Enemy Territory - Well sorta
It really is amazing they gave this game away. I don’t read much into boxing it with RTCW though. They have nothing to lose at this point, and it probably helps to sell RTCW, which is getting to be an “old” game. I hope they put out some more official levels. I’d gladly pay for them, as most of the custom maps aren’t that great, but I won’t hold my breath.
I really can’t see any other ways for them to cash in on ET than putting it in with RTCW. An add-on with only maps for money is highly unlikely.
theyve been doing thst for a while, and its not that surpirising, they give it out on their site.
ET has made wolfy popular agian, it made me dust off my rtcw & reinstall, im enjoying it more than ever strangely :drink:
and im sure i see more ppl playing wolfy now…
not exactly. I noticed that when ET full was released, RtCW lost a lot of population.
I remember when I tried to get into the Happy Penguin server, I was usually forced to wait a minimum of 2 mins before I would be let into the server (cuz of fullness). But there is usuaully no connection problems now.
Admittedly, I have somewhat abandoned RtCW to play ET, but I still enjoy a high octane match on the Happy Penguin server or the l33t players in the NARF server once in a while.
well there are alotr of people that play et but have never played rtcw. its like a whole new crowd of people. ive even coenm across some people that have never even heard of rtcw.
well i was just 1 of those ppl who bought wolfy on its release, pld it a few months & went back to playing q3_ctf
:???:
Not entirely true. When ET was first released I found maybe little over 200 RtCW servers online… a few months later, that number was back up to over 600. Seems a lot of people switched their servers over to ET becuase it was a “better game” then for whatever reason decided it wasn’t, and went back to RtCW.
blah de blah, ET has reinvented everything wolfy, trust meh, things r pikin up .o/
