please do remove the launcher chosse of different class characters.one of the biggest complain reasons in brink .why have different medics if i only can choose before match.thats pointless. the new medic looks like defensiv medic so i want have the choice to take him in defense and the other one in the offense
Not the same mistake again?
I’m relatively knew to the Alpha as are others so not everyone has known for six months.
I completely agree; the medic with the health station is definitely defense oriented and the fact you have to go to the launcher to select the class archetypes is a BIG turn off, so much so that I didn’t want to select a certain class even when we needed it because I knew it wouldn’t be useful, so I really think it needs to be changed where you can access everything from the limbo menu, either that or change the different versions of classes so they’re viable on both attack and defense.
In the long run selection won’t be limited to the launcher, you’ll be able to do it in game between matches. You will be limited to a set of five characters during a session though.
in the current state games can be won only by counter the other lineup, we dont play dota
and i havent known this before
its a big loose of dynamic
and tell me 10 guys who finaly enjoyed the brink system
and this post should not be unfrendly
but why
i have not understand it in brink and not now why implement this?
would be nice if you could explain it to us
Glad to hear you’ll be able to select characters from the limbo menu but confused about the limit and the purpose it serves. Are you basically saying I could set up my list so I have my attacking medic and my defensive medic, and perhaps defensive and attacking builds for one other character with say 1 left over for either attack or defense? If that’s the case I think that might actually be counter productive towards the aim of encouraging teamwork; people will just stay with their mains or alts which will most likely be 1-2 classes and won’t switch to a class that is needed because they won’t have their proffered weapons or load out. I’m trying to understand why it needs to be restricted and find myself scratching my head
You choose the the five characters that you prefer before your match. Out of many, many choices. not just these two.
Based on the level and whether your defence or attack and your preferences.
It adds another level of strategy. If you choose wrong, you may suffer. But will learn over time
which characters suit your style over different levels.
if you could choose any character at any time it would be like getting any weapon or upgrade at anytime.
you have to learn, adapt and progress. That’s the longevity. In developing your skill.
Or what you’re going to be playing considering different servers may have different maps/map rotations.
I don’t like this at all, you should be able to choose your loadout ingame to reflect the dynamic nature of play/strategy.
Restricted for ??? reason is simply not good…
edit:
I have not played yet as I’m at work, but my assumption is that you pick 5 characters aka loadouts to play the game with. Correct me if i’m wrong…
A good system is Tribes Ascend where you can create 10 loadouts and quick switch in-game. If a situation comes up where you need to manually edit a loadout to adjust to the nature of the game then it takes a little bit longer (15 seconds)
This game is slowly getting worse and worse. Soon it won’t be recognizable as a “classic type fps”. The PC FPS genre is done. Apparently valve listens to their fans with CS:go. Changed enough to be pretty different but still, the core gameplay of CS is still there. You are turning this into a terrible version of brink. Take from your previous titles, brink was A W F U L.
Poor choice of game engine as well. Unreal engine is just bad for this type of game, such a shame.
Ya I’m pretty much done with the game till it starts getting radical redesigns. Stop trying to make brink 2.0. You’ve already failed at 1.0.
Well, I’ll be the odd man out and say I didn’t mind the way brink did the class loadouts(for the most part), and I’m ok with this here since we know it’s just a testing phase and more options will be available later. I’ll tell you what DOES worry me though…we keep reading the word “restrict” from the devs. Call me captain obvious if you will, but players want more freedom in their games, not less.
I don’t like that either. I don’t see where limiting the players options can ever be a good idea. If I’m sucking as the shotgun engi and mine, why shouldn’t I be able to change to the assault rifle and turret?
I would just like to hear the logic behind this decision to only be able to choose 5 per session.
Stop being so drastic… If one thing about the game can cause you to insta rage-quit then chances are you would not of stuck around anyway. SD have been quite responsive to feedback on these forums, you need to provide your feedback in a mature way instead of ‘fix or I quit the game’.
Due to the large amount of negative feedback, I expect SD to either come out explaining their reasoning behind their decision or revise it and edit it for a later patch. It is alpha, they are allowed to throw idea’s around and it is our responsibility to provide feedback to what we think works/doesn’t work.

What other engines are out there?
IdTech engines have been terrible after idtech 3, every release after that has been terrible. So that leaves you with source engine + unreal engine.
