Not much news ...

(RasteRayzeR) #1

I must say it’s been a little while I could not wander around the forum in depth (thx to my studies), but I finally got some time to do it and except a thread where people (rightfully) yell at the multiple inconveniences Nexon keeps imposing us, I don’t see any new post about new concepts - art - programming - maps - etc.

What is happening ? What will be introduced in the next patch ? How did some of our feedback find its way into the game ? All these questions are left aside I believe and this is bad news. Not only we can’t play as much as before because of Nexon’s unreliability, but we don’t know either what will happen in a close future. It feels like the game is dead already.

No news -> no motivation, No motivation -> no commitment. No commitment -> dead community. Dead community -> dead game.

Please SD, talk to us !

Agreed with everything that rayser said. SD seem to be tired of community or at least tired of dialog about crucial things.

I’m wondering what happened to the video updates. These were really good and even if they take time to create, at least they put the devs in the position where they have to sell their new ideas. And this is a great way to know if your ideas are on the right tracks, because if you present your idea, you have to be convinced it’s good otherwise it’s hard to make a presentation about it, even a quick one.

I’d say right now more than ever with this transition period, we need announcements and regular updates from SD. I just hope they remember why they brought us here : not to make their lives impossible by bitching at everything, but to give feedback and prevent Extraction to fall into disgrace like Brink did. Personally I just wanna help, but I less and less see how I can do that …

I’d say they have been pretty open about what’s next if all goes well: a minor patch this week, a major patch sometime in November.

Brink had no external testing, so I don’t think it’s even comparable.

How will releasing upcoming information help anyone here? It’s not testable. People will just jump to conclusions, complain about untested changes, and self-fulfill prophecies about potential problems.

It’s not about knowing everything before it’s happening, but it’s best they get the general feeling of the community before they implement big things, because we can either show them how it might fail/succeed, and give ideas too. My point is that we can’t really give any feedback anymore and there is a clear lack of communication from SD.

And from what I see, external testing or not we are not really taken into account (except the data from ECHO that we generate). Globally I see a difference between march when I joined and now : back there in march most features were discussed and improved upon with the help of the community. What happend to that ? Now I only see a new patch with new features, I can just play with them and say it’s cool/ it’s not cool, and that’s about it … :frowning:

(stealth6) #6

You’re thinking too much. Play the game, let echo do the rest

(fzl) #7

its atm booring to play this game still londonbridge and waterloo are playable … rest is public****…more not … no password servers - no drafts

anyway some frustrtation in the community

not good atm

(RasteRayzeR) #8

ECHO can’t really say if I’m pissed off or happy when I play …

(dirtybomber) #9

wtf are u all talking about? they’ve said alrdy new balance update coming out early next week (monday-tuesday probably?), after testing it etc new keys will be sent out. just go play the game which runs 1 full server almost all the time

(Violator) #10

It has gone vewy vewy quiet (Elmer Fudd stylee) since Nexon took over. LB & WL can still be fun, but Trainyard is usually over within 2 minutes (we did it in 1 min 15 yesterday) and WL is now pretty much an EV steamroll. People complained that the maps were taking too long and now its the reverse tbh - hopefully we can find some middle ground next patch.

(Rex) #11

I think you exaggerate a bit, as I think they’ve been just more busy at the moment due to the beta migration.
Remember these video also always cost time to make. And the next patch just lies ahead.

(fragon89) #12

the bigger problem i see in not so far future is the lack of feedback cuz this forum with time will die and will have no meaning cuz all the new players will feedback on nexon forum and right now nexon’s forum is dead… unless there will be like “BETA FORUM” in SD website.

i love the main progress of the game but I afraid the new wave of players damage this progress.

just sain…

The Nexon forum will be the “Beta forum” for all the new players and it will be much bigger than ours here. But yes I also hope our feedback will be still considered as valuable, not that we are just the so-called ‘minority’.

It’s nice to know “something” is coming soon, but the return of the dev vids (which as I recall were produced for internal purposes as well as our enjoyment) and a general road map update would be very welcome.

(n4ts) #15

Guys, I think they’re just workign their asses off to get this game ready for more players to join into the CB.
Let’s give them some time and in the meanwhile just play and share your feedback.

Absolutely, they must be having a hard time. Let’s give them a breather

(meat) #17

Badman stated in the video update forum, that they were prepping for pax, so no August video’s. Since then they been working on launching the closed Beta.
I would say they been rather busy lately.
Would like to see more Video updates in the future!

(Ruben0s) #18

Maybe they will consider it valuable if they manage to read it… I mean reading all the forum posts on two forums will be a pain in the ass and I’m pretty sure that the people at SD have better things to do with their time (like managing two different versions of the game :x ).

Maybe they should add a +1 button for posts so they can save them self some time with reading the bullcrap posts that I post.

They could add a filter and only read the posts with the most +1’s (would save a lot of time as 75% of the posts is garbage).

(Seanza) #19

People say it’s all quiet on the Western front, but they obviously aren’t listening hard enough!

New patch is coming within the next week (expectedly), they are focussing on making the game more stable so that the next wave(s) of testers can join us.

I agree that video updates are super slow though. The excuse was PAX, but that was a while ago now.

(dirtybomber) #20

finished reading it not so long ago. **** was good.
