No Subtitles on Brink!?!?!?!

I just got Brink for the PS3 to play the story mode only to find that there’s no subtitle options. I’m PISSED! I can’t hear **** on the game. So my questions are this…are there some way to get subtitles on? If not, will there be a subtitle patch? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

My fiancee is hearing impaired and we were both looking forward to this game so much. And with the steep learning curve (long tutorial videos explaining how to play) and intro video for both campaigns.

NO THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO SUBTITLES for ANY of the content in this game.:mad:

I’m tempted to return the game, but I have submitted an email to Bethesda regarding this. I’ll post again their response if and when I receive one.

I’m hard of hearing but mostly play with X1 headphones, however this will be a problem in the lounge. From what i’ve read, youir not missing a great deal story wise but it is a glaring oversight by SD.

That strikes me as a pretty strange oversight. Stuff like that isn’t required for MS/Sony certification?

I mean come on, at least some captions for the tutorial videos, cg parts and scripted parts, I don’t need to know what my team mates are saying during solo campaign, or the announcer.

yeah sometimes i have a difficult time hearing the voice audio it like fades out or the background music seems louder the the voice actors dialog.

This needs to be kept on the frontpage until we get some word on whether we’ll be getting subtitles in a future patch. No doubt SD didn’t consider they would ever need to put subtitles into Brink, so it’ll take them some time to write them up and patch them in if they ever get round to it…

I agree, I have the dialogue volume turned down anyways because the radio scratch noises hurt my ears. Also, if someone is talking on the mic in party chat I cannot hear any of the dialogue. This feature should be added.

I’m hard of hearing so no subtitles is a problem for me. Also, I play games when my daughter has been put to bed, cranking the volume up isn’t an option.

In the cutscenes and the black tip screen where the leaders talk the voices are so low it’s not even funny, is this intended?

Same problem here, the cutscenes are too quiet, and I often can’t understand what is being said over the accents. This wouldn’t be a big deal if we had subs, but I’m actually quite surprised to see this feature completely missing.

Yeah I’d have liked some subtitles in the game but c’mon, it’s hardly “disgusting”. Don’t be drama queens.

Sure, but it’s still a really bizarre oversight. Things like subtitles, or checking visual elements are ok for various types of colour blindness, are just the sorts of things that should standard these days. There’s no reason to unnecessarily shut out portions of your customer base.
