no players??? xbox 360

its just annoying instead of asking a team mate for ammo i have to follow him around and bounce about infront of him till he gets the hint and when the enemies come from behind you cant just tell somebody because your only talking to yourself its a stupid idea. iv managed to play one game with voip and it was alot more enjoyable being able to communicate and work as a team. as i said previously communication sets players aside from bots the whole game is team based whats good about a team that dosent communicate.

Make a fire team so you can talk to them, make a party, or play a mode where Public VOIP is on. I personally am with Horse and Wolf on this one. I want to talk with who I want when I want. I don’t want to listen to some random person’s screaming kids, parents yelling at them, singing songs, deliberately trying to annoy others, etc. I find all the aforementioned things occur about 1000x more than someone asking for a heal or ammo. The fire team feature and the lack of public VOIP on standard mode allows me to enjoy my game experience the way I want. I know it’s not ideal for everyone or maybe even most people, but I like the feature.

For all those people saying “well Public VOIP should be on as default and you can just mute them.” Well, just like it’s an apparently insurmountable ordeal for you to join a fire team or find some friends and start a party in this game, it’s a giant pain in my ass to have to go through menus to mute people in every other game out there.

(RandyNinja) #23

yeah and its also a giant pain in the ass to set up fireteams. and its very hard to find a game that actually has voip enabled by default. also i think your assuming that most of the players that are playing brink are the same litte kids that are on games like CoD but from my experience the people that have stuck around are very diffent from the annoying kids you speak off. also if you hate to talk to people that much theres an option on the xbox profile that auto mutes everybody thats not on your friends list. party chat has killed multiplayer games on the 360 and things like this dont help the situatuion at all

I don’t hate talking to people. I’m a therapist, all I do all day is talk to people for a living. I also am always playing with friends in fireteam or party and talking with them. What I do hate is listening to people that are being annoying either unintentionally or on purpose. It doesn’t matter what the title is there are a certain % of people like this and they’re in Brink just like every other game.

It’s not hard to find a game with VOIP enabled by default considering I’m pretty sure it’s on in comp and old skool. If you don’t like those modes you can start your own public game with the feature on. Problem solved.

Your suggestion to me is the same as mine to you. I don’t feel like having to go through a menu to achieve my results and apparently you don’t either. So every other game out there is made the way you like and this one is the way I like.

(RandyNinja) #25

yeah ill admit the last thing i want to listen to is annoying people whilst im trying to relax but then again asuming that theres allways going to be sombody like that ruins the game for me as there have been so many people playing that i have enjoyed a random chat with this has got to be the only game that it hasnt happened in and its ashame

No your solution is not a good one. There aren’t enough players to make that work consistently. My proof that your solution is inadequate is the 90% of games that I play where people don’t create fireteams or people don’t join. The whole reason that Microsoft created party chat was to eliminate the need for games to do this crap. Just because you play games with some people doesn’t solve the problem for those that just want to play without having to worry about people on their friends list or fireteams or setting up chatrooms on ps3 all of which are completely ridiculous “solutions”.

No disrespect, but “make a fireteam” is a pretty ridiculous solution.

Brink has 8-player teams at most. The entire playerbase is inconvenienced by the locked chat functions, for some theory that the mainstream wants all voicechat blocked by default. It’s pretty stupid. There’s only 8 players on a freaking team. Easy mute functions have been doing much better at this since forever now in online FPS gaming.

-This game feels so empty most of the time.
-There’s no lobby or optimatch or matchmaking system worth mentioning, so for people with a life and limited time for gaming looking to get right into matches, their only decent choice is the matches where bots fill empty slots until replaced by real players.
-Starting a new game alone in Competitive or Old Skool can often see you spending over half an hour waiting before you can finally see a match start
-If your enemy team quits out on you in Comp/Old modes, guess what happens? That’s right, nothing.
-Why no team lobbies? Why no party lobbies? Why no matchmaking lobbies? Why… um…

…oh, crap! I’ve started rambling again. Dammit!

might be ranting but you hit the nail on the head

Sorry. Not hard to make a fireteam at all. If friends join your match they are automatically put in your fireteam. If you enter a game with randoms. Just invite one person to your fire team. Not much harder than checking the menu. Stop using lack of VOIP default as an excuse for not liking the game. Make some friends for crying out loud. That’s what friend’s lists are for. And don’t give me crap about not having room on your list. Setup a party like 99% of other people do in games anyway. Who uses the in-game chat much anymore anyway? Find some people to play and make friends. There are plenty of people on this forum that use mics and are ok to play with.

(wolfnemesis75) #31

I am still laughing about how you sent me a Friend Request after you said there was nobody playing. I accepted. You joined my match later that night with Neph and I and the match filled out with 16 people. It was me and Neph and the rest were all randoms. You only played that one match and did next to zero. As soon as the match (Aquarium) ended, you quit. As soon as you left, Neph and I said, he’s gonna still go say there’s nobody to play with, lol. The rest of the night me and Neph played in full matches. Sure enough, a week went by, and I see you b***'n about how there’s nobody to play with and no full matches. I saw that, and clicked Dropped ya. You are set on “Not playing”. So I say, don’t play. I got no room on my list or in my fireteam for folks who don’t want to play or have poor behavior. And there are many many more people with disruptive attitudes on Live, hence the VOIP being set to off. Gets old. It is refreshing that Brink takes steps to limit the negativity. So I don’t have to “mute ya”. K.

Are you kidding me? You are bad. The first match was against mostly bots Lmao. I played the second match on aquarium and I led the game in kills. One of your boys even posted on this forum on how I did well. Nice try though. Even with a full party of 8 we were still having trouble filling the room LOL. It’s like you live in this alternate reality LOL. The only reason I sent you an invite was to see how bad you were and you confirmed exactly what I thought.

Me posting that there weren’t enough people is a fact and you know it. I like the game but I’m not a blind fanboy…AND I’m better than you at it.

This is exactly why VOIP is set to off by default. Case closed.

(DirtFist5000) #35

Game still ****in sucks!

(V1cK_dB) #36

Sure buddy. I didn’t say one word when we played. Voip off is terrible and one of the main reasons this good game has failed. Get it through your thick head. Just because you like it doesn’t mean we should ignore the fact that most people don’t .

You are the biggest fanboy I’ve ever seen. It’s embarrassing really. Keep on playing with your hardcore members beating scrub random kids and bots and thinking your good because of it. If you ever want to play actual good human players let me know and we can play a 4v4 or 5v5 match and ill post the beatdown vid on here for all to see.

Apparently people can’t dislike anything about this game…not even blatantly obvious faults with the game before wolfscrub comes to try and shut u down LOL.

(SinDonor) #37

VOIP off by default is the best thing since scented condoms. In other games, I always join an XBL party by myself just so I don’t have to hear all of the trash talking, high and mighty, “you suck” douchebags that populate every Xbox live game all the time. It gets tiresome having to mute people every two or three matches when a new dbag joins the game. If my friends come online, they can join my party and we can chat, dbag free.

(Terminator514) #38

You might want to check your NAT because I get a full game almost all the time.

(iezza) #39

and voip off is ****

(wolfnemesis75) #40

Yeah, you want to set your Nat to OPEN. Many routers are set to Strict by default.
