Nitmod client problem?!

(system) #1

Well I have problem with nitmod, installed it on my gameserver, connected and it says “You are banned from the server”… Checked the !showbans - no bans listed. Check the log! Shows me connecting but no disconnet messsage… Deleted and reinstalled nitmod, same thing happens again. Also noticed bots couldn’t connect and my friend couldn’t connect either? Anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?!

My mod version is nitmod 2.2 final

My thoughts are maybe its cvar? but i checked the n guid and n ip check was switched off and still it did the same?! Why cant people connect and why do they get a ban message?

i was thinking the same!! hahaha

Obviously Not cheated… :L well i’ve ran nitmod before on ycn, worked like a charm! Gameservers.com on the other had can’t even run most of the mods… ETJump for example i tried to load that but i got a message saying about some glib 2.7 or something, all the same, i can run jaymod no bother or etpro… Never expierienced that ban thing? I don’t think its an actual ban but a disconnection message but if so what is causing the disconnection? another failed qa_game?

(ETJump-Zero) #5

Which is why there’s a version of 2.0.2 that has been compiled just for gameservers.com. Newer versions will not have this problem, though.

I got a feeling that nitmod has a global ban for cheaters and you’ve been busted somewhere…

(system) #6

Oh yeh and everyone else was busted too… nah i found the solution, my sv_maxclients was at the bottom of the config? dunno why but i moved it too the top and problem solved, maybe a bug in the qa_game and also i tried all versions of etjump and i recieved the error for all of them, also etrun and trickjump gave me the same error :L gameservers.com is not as good as they say they are! if they are running out dated software…

(Nitrox_) #7

Nah, not yet…

Aww :frowning: Would be nice.

For production environment it’s not a very good idea to run the latest version of software, but problem is that gameservers.com is running a 7+ years old version of GNU C Library which I find rather ridiculous. ETJump <= 2.0.2 was compiled in a machine requiring glibc 2.7 hence making it impossible to host an ETJump server on gameservers.com.

I wouldn’t use them as a host but if you want to keep on hosting there, you can use this version of etjump 2.0.1 to host an etjump server there. New versions will only require glibc 2.3, though. I don’t see myself releasing next one anytime very soon, though.
