I get accused of cheating all the time. I guess if you play 3-4 league matches a week and 15 or so scrims a week, you’re bound to get better. No cheating involved-just work in building skills.

You might want to try the same.

I’ve never seen a cheater while playing ET but I’ve got accused being one many times. So let’s make one thing clear: some of us have been playing this game for 1.5 years in the shape of RtCW which reminds ET veeeeeeeeeery much. So next time you think you’ve seen a cheater, he’s probably a RtCW-veteran.

Yes, i agree. And its not just aim, its also situation awareness. To be able to predict the current and future location for friends and enemies. Of youre good, you can turn around corners and fire “on the fly” and - sure enough - there was an enemy there. it might look like Zen, but its just, as stated above, the result of years of playing.
And no matter how good you are, there is always another player out there who is better. And there are always new online gaming talents coming.

I agree with the previous two posters. However, there are cheats out there. Most of them have pretty short lifetime before pb detects them, but they do exist. Since the ET banning system is basically useless, the cheaters keep coming back. That, IMO, is the worst thing about ET being a free game. I would be happy to pay someone $20 for a GUID if it meant we could effectivly ban people.

All the above are correct and everyone must be VERY sure that someone is cheating and have evidence to back that up as well before any accusations are made anywhere. RTCW vets are a lot of the time gonna look very good and take the piss out of a lot of noobs who will be amazed at what is happening to them.

Then you get the gods of gaming as detailed in the “I am so shit hot I get voted out of the game” thread, they are untouchably excellent and may well have trained in CIA assasin camps or the like. Those guys are “bad like yo momma” and should be voted off at every conceivable instance.

I’m not obsessed at all I just find the whole concept of the thread incredibly amusing and the worst of it is these people actually think they are shit hot.

I was brought up to be reasonably humble (OK so it fucked up) and would NEVER be big headed enough to even consider saying to anyone never mind the “net” that “now look I don’t think I’m really all that good but everyone else thinks I’m so good I must be cheating”.

In my experience of things (I’m thinking of guys that were on my masters degree course) people who say they are the dogs bollocks (for the yankie boys - abnormally good) at things are very often quite the opposite and just plain bollocks (yankie boys - absolute shit), (the two wankers on my course failed dismally and were not allowed to retake the exams OR retake the year something relatively unheard of). As I have said I have these people ear marked for inspection but for the life of me I can’t find these gods anywhere, a pity I’d like to see their incredible talent. :clap:

I dont think I have ever seen someone cheat on ET. People need to realise there are some great players out there and just because they are good dosnt mean they cheat.

You should never moan at the good players or vote them off because the only way u will ever improve in these types of games is by playing with these ppl. Any1 with experiance can go on a noob servers and pretty much own them, but by going on these servers your skill lvl will drop and when a good player does join and they own your butt you think they are cheating. All because you think I own every1 on this server so he must be cheating.

Also this forum would be so dull without smyler :slight_smile:

I’m not aiming this thread at anyone in particular but ET already has more effective cheats available for it than RTCW EVER did, there are quite a few of them, such as aimbot, wallhack, and the cvar unlocker.
Because ET is a free game it’s attracting the hackers like flies to sh1t. I’ve never owned or used these cheats but am getting increasingly disturbed by the amount of people using them. Server admins should make use of the punkbuster screenshot command so they can ban the relevant players.
