nick1021 is a troll...

I have zero problem with people not liking the game. None whatsoever. But to say you don’t like it…because you bought it thinking it was going to be ET3, and its not-- is jut not real wise in my personal opinion. And its not really something you can pass blame on. Its your money SD didn’t rob you at gun point.

Troll
One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers.

He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. ‘you’re nothing but a fanboy’ is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.

Do whatever you must to keep your ignorance bubble intact. Reminds of close minded christains.

Forums of dead games always have fanboys, and they are the most fun to argue with since whatever they defending is wrong, but they have deluded themselves so much that they think they are right.
And then when their arguments have been beaten they resort to insults.
LOL, of course it does, if you weren’t a virgin you wouldn’t get so angry about a videogame that doesn’t work the way you want it to.

Good ol’ CRT class remember those early college days well. In fact if I remember them correctly Nicky-boy has hit all the fallacies… Apple Polishing, Scare tactics, Guilt tripping, Inconsistency in his ad hominems, Perfectionist fallacies, Group think fallacy, Red herrings, smoke screens, Straw man, Post hoc…

He’s hit them all, which is quite impressive. Once he reaches those CRT and PSY courses in college he could just copy and paste most his arguments as examples of the fallacy types.

Well considering the majority of absorb-able game play information was through interviews with the devs, one might take it literally if they trust the word of SD. Word-for-word this game was described as the culmination of progress of ET style games. Most people don’t want their money back, they just are dumbfounded by this game and understandably they want it to be the game that it was supposed to be. Developers don’t make games for themselves, so there is a point to all the “whine” on the forums…

Nothing to back it up? You are taking my quotes out of context. Whenever I saw you’re nothing but just a fanboy it’s true. All they do is insult and blindly put faith into a game and instead of arguing against my point they do some insult.

But yes, maybe my intentions are some what trollish. But I listen to proposed arguments and argue against them, until they start another round of insults. Then I just ignore it, because I know the fanboy has come out.

I don’t completely argue JUST for the sake of arguing. Those are my views. I didn’t make them up JUST to argue.

to be perfectly honest. I never understood the comparison. the videos and gameplay looked very little like Q:ET. I enjoyed that game. But there were definitely better games out at the time. Still I trust SD’s skill at game design, and not what SD says verbatim in interviews. I trusted them because of their previous endeavors. Not because this is Q:ET with a new coat of paint. Frankly I doubt if I would’ve spent the coin if that was the case. Even still I wasnt sure on a pre-order so I went the promo deal on Direct2Drive - $37.50 I think it was on a preorder. So far I have put in 187 hours in BRINK. I’ve recouped my money. I’m happy.

But again, i just didn’t see the similarities to Q:ET. Brink looked fun on it own merit. I bought it for what it looked like to me. Not because I thought it would be like Q:ET. If many of you feel duped, not really sure how to help.

Scrutinize your purchases better–despite what the developers say…because at the end of the day they are trying to sell you something. Go on what you see and be like George W Bush “feel it in your gut”

What the hell could you possibly do for 187 hours? Most of the mp is bots and how the hell do the 8 maps NOT get boring (p.s. bots play the same, so it’s the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN).

(Bittermetal) #49

I’m a bot. I thought you knew.

I play with friends. And there are no bots in the servers I play on. I make sure of that. I have several servers in my favorites and I have at least 4-6 of my close friends in the same servers with me. The game is never the same. In that amount of time I have learned a lot about the game and it keeps on giving back. I didn’t stop playing when I realized it wasn’t another game with the BRINK name.

What are we doing? Having an effing BLAST! Completing objectives trying to out maneuver each other SMART-ly and just squeezing every ounce of our hard earned money out this piece. This is our money by the way. I don’t know how old you are or if you bought this game with money from your own job. But that makes a difference. You tend to appreciate things more.

Currently, according to STEAM I have played 237 hours of MP BLOPS. BRINK will beat that in another couple weeks.

But yeah I’m off to play again for another couple hours before i finish writing video card reviews.

Name calling & conjecture? Did you really believe this would elevate your own position. You have a point, but all you’ve done is embarrassed yourself. I wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t break the forum rules itself.

Use the ignore option, much better than feeding the troll.

(nick1021) #51

That could be fun (but still, the 8 maps). But trust me, you are a very very VERY low minority in this case. Most of the people are mostly playing against bots.

(H0RSE) #52

1 - how do the 8 maps not get boring? Because they are fun to play. Even asking such a question, just shows your shallowness in terms of what you look for in games. Tell me something. If a game had 100 maps, would you constantly be playing all of them, or would you find the few you liked and play them over and over again? personally, (and I think I speak for many people) I would just play the maps I enjoyed over and over - like 8 or so. When I used to play RTCW, around 80% or more of the games I played, were on Beach - that’s just one map. And I have hundreds, if not thousands of hours in that game.

2 - Most MP shooters are the same thing over and again, whether it’s real people or bots. Deathmach is always Deathmatch, CTF is always CTF, and you always play the same maps over and over. Even when playing against real people, general tactics are formed and mimicked from one player to another.
