Heavy built isnt pointless at all now, they pwn you everytime in a close combar since the last patch.
Turret isn´t bugged at all, It does kill enemys and you also have 2 mines and your gun makes more damage then any other classes.
About spread just pick a weapon with less spread maybe or dont spray just burstfire if using Ars.
Weapons balance doesnt feel bad, if that was the case you would see all people using the same guns no matter what, and you see people using diferent guns, while in games like cs you just see people using ak 47 and the m something.
Parkour is fine as it is, if you made it a deep skill the game would be less comercial.
About the map balance, i think its more a matter of team balance rather then map balance, a good team can win in any map no matter what, if your stuck with a bad team you will be respaw camped and lose 24/7.
Sayng that all games that have a small comunity are bad games is a lie.
About the singleplayer / the unlocks / the leveling system i agree.
If I’m suppose to forget what the developers said their game would be like over and over, why should I bother watching trailers or anything else about the game? They could just be lies, too.
They never showed the game on the PC, anyways, so how would the videos help? Games play so much different when you have a keyboard and mouse vs a controller so it’s hard to make an assumption. Had I made the assumption that that was how the game would be played, everyone here would have said, “no, no it plays so much differently.”
They kept saying the PC version was made for the PC, that it would have great competitive support and they reassured us over and over on sites like Crossfire that they were taking our wishes in as feedback and would work on them, such as a cvar for the removal of ironsights or letting us set spawn timers.
You may have paid for the videos. I paid for what rahdo said the game would be: an ET competitive experience. I’m sure lots of other competitive players did as well, so we have a right to be ticked after they said one thing and gave us another.
The boxart has nothing to do with it, by the way. A random interview? If you’re talking to Joystiq, you shouldn’t say stuff like that when you don’t mean it. Sites like Joystiq, Kotaku, etc., are read by tons of people and those people remember what you say; even if you hate Kotaku or something, it’s a huge site and if you say something in an interview and it gets posted there you better back it up when the game hits. They said something, the game came out, and it wasn’t what they said.
Hopeless. Lordy. So you just listened to what was said and didn’t look at any videos? Wow! Blame the man in the mirror not SD.
I play on PC only. No console anything since PS2 and first XB. Still I found the videos more insightful than any rhetorical pontificating. Just me.
well im not sayng that container city is perfectly balanced im just sayng if both teams are decent respaw camp never happens.
when teams are unbalanced respaw camp can happen in any map.
The same happens in Bfbc2.

But it doesn’t matter on which map. If you get spawn raped in bfbc2 that means you really sucked. If you get spawn raped in brink and on CC and aquariam it’s not COMPLETELY your fault. For you not to get spawn raped you would have to better, but that’s not fair or balanced if you have to be extra better just on those maps not to get raped.
In bfbc2 if you get respaw camped is because your team sux, in brink if you get respaw camped is also because your team sux. I also play bfbc2 btw.
But anyway i keep my point, the main issue isn´t the maps its the teams balancing, if you disagree ok, consider it my opinion.
I may be in minority here, but I don’t think this guy is a troll. I love this game, it’s my drug, I can’t get enough of it. However, I realize that everything I like about it, others may hate. I understand he has a different opinion, however I fail to see why he stays in these forums and decides to post it everywhere if he honestly hates the game. I think he wants to like the game and wants to share his ideas of making it better, but he’s going about it in a way that people don’t necessarily like.
You get spawn camped in aquariam when you rescue the hostage. Well when the enemy team is bots that is. Because they only use 1 route, not the 2nd.
And when playing on cc you get spawn camped even if your team is ok. You have to be SUPERB not to get spawn camped. The advantage is for the defenders. You can’t just ignore 100’s of complaints of being spawn camped and say it’s an opinion. There obviously is a problem here.
(Btw, I’m usually not the one getting spawn camped. Me and my friends would always pick that map just to spawn camp the enemy team. So many easy points =/)
And there was only one map in bfbc2 where you get spawn raped (if done right). And that map obv. holds an imbalance. One of the sides spawn is an open area with no cover. If the enemy team gets carls and just randomly shoots, they will get kills.

Actually I watched most of the videos that I found besides the ones based around the customization since I find it utterly useless. It’s hard to judge a game when the people playing it suck at aiming; I would watch some idiot try to point a crosshair over a bot with a console controller and they’d still miss every time. How the heck do I judge a game based around that? Tell me how does that show anything about the PC game?
Why should I blame myself? I read pretty much everything rahdo posted on Crossfire.nu, read the reviews of people who played it at expo’s, and all kinds of stuff. I did everything I could to educate myself, but hearing it was ET3 made it a preorder. The only thing I didn’t read were the abilities, just so I’d have something fun to experience on day 1. Everything I read pointed at a great game with lots of people playing for years to come. The real numbers speak otherwise with a total of 258 players on. Fable 3 and Zombie Panic Source (a mod that’s years old now and wasn’t a big title!) has more people on right now, haha! Again, they shouldn’t say stuff if they don’t mean it, because their videos sucked and the only thing you had to educate yourself on was their meaningless forum posts.
Ofc I would like to like the game I spent money on =P
But it’s a bit too late for that to happen. This game is dead )=
I don’t buy games that will turn out bad just to go on the forums and complain.

Well then just stop waisting your time posting in a dead game forum : O
Threads like these entertain me. I like to argue. Forums of dead games always have fanboys, and they are the most fun to argue with since whatever they defending is wrong, but they have deluded themselves so much that they think they are right.
And then when their arguments have been beaten they resort to insults.

you have some valid points, but going about it in the way you are isnt going to accomplish anything m8

Yes, you are quite original. Go look at page 1.
Well, I’m not sure what your age is, but when you get my age (I’m 31 BTW) you’ll realize the importance of not what you say, but how you say it. Take for example my 1st post in this thread. I could have just as easily came out and called you a worthless, trolling piece of crap with nothing better to do in your life. But I didn’t. I pointed out the fact that while your opinions and ideals do hold some merit and truth in them, your execution of presenting those opinions and ideals makes people less likely to agree with you, and more likely to throw you under the proverbial bus.
There’s a saying that goes like this: “Discretion is the better part of valor”. What that means in essence…sometimes it’s best not to say anything. Yes, if you have an opinion on something, it’s natural to want to express it. But if you actively and willing know that what you have to say will spurn a negative reaction in any sort, and not contribute in any sense or form, why say it? To get your jollies off? Make yourself feel good inside? It’s pointless, in poor taste, and serves no purpose aside from eliciting a negative reaction from people, which is a quick way to find yourself looking for a new forum to browse.
There are pros and cons about Brink. We get it. We all know them by now. So what purpose does it serve jumping into every thread you see stating something positive about the game and injecting it with your negative venom? See my point? You’re certainly not helping matters. You’re definitely not changing anything about the game, what it has or what it’s missing. You’re just spewing needless disorder into the thread, deliberate or unintentional. There have been PLENTY of thread that I’ve wanted to chime in on and speak my mind, but I chose not to because I weigh in what my comment would have to contribute to the thread and it’s subject matter. If it’s nothing positive, I stay out of it. Maybe it’s because I’m a “mature” gamer. Maybe it’s because I’m good at gauging people’s personalities even behind text on a screen. But the bottom line is your point will reach a far wider spectrum of understanding if you presented it without the satirical bite. A**holes don’t last long on web forums.
He’s already said he does it cause its fun. He likes to argue (a good debater he is not). And he will do it until he’s bored. All of which says… I’m between 12-17 years of age. Which is to say I think I know everything and you can’t tell me piss.
Ignoring is the sharpest arrow in my quiver right now.

Your response train is identical to every other “quit hating on my favorite game” person on here. You like this game along with a few other hundred. Good for you, you obviously never got to play the better ones. SD has a history making games. They advertise Brink as being a follow up to their acclaimed style BUT better. People like SD and are willing to buy their games for this reason. Brink instantly crushes the expectations one might have that is accustomed to ET style games. If SD wanted to steer away from this path, they should have made it clear and saved people money. No matter how you choose to look at it, this game is an ugly duckling and not a diamond in the rough. Either this game was made for the few hundred random people that still play, it was an attempt at doing something “new and ohhh creative” to the original formula, or there was an epic fail of comprehension about why people love ET games. It’s quite healthy to acknowledge and accept when grievous mistakes are made.
