nick1021 is a troll...

(bastuden) #1

No seriously this kid is just here trying to scare away new potential buyers, because he thinks he is some how doing the world a service and protecting them from buying this game, also he has small penis and he has never seen any woman’s sexual organs in real life.

(nick1021) #2

New potential buyers? Really? And I’m sorry that my opinion is negative about this game. I’m not trolling. Just because you don’t agree with my view doesn’t mean I’m trolling. Just because I’m not humping this game right now doesn’t mean I’m a troll.

I’m sad for anyone who buys this really. That’s my opinion. Nothing trollish about it.

And lol.

(nick1021) #3

Quoting you so you don’t edit it later. I’m sure you care if you get banned. But you’re going to try act cool and mighty by saying you don’t.

(Jimmy James) #4

I’ve seen people feed trolls before but I’ve never seen someone set out a bowl on their front porch and fill it with troll chow.

(Bittermetal) #5

ahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahah! I think your last comment is the most relevant piece.

(nick1021) #6

Unbelievable. I’m sorry bitter. I thought you wouldn’t be that dumb. This community is very sad. Usually communities hate trolls (trust me, I haven’t been trolling yet). But when retarded stuff like this happens they are even more hateful.

Bastuden, you killed off any potential buyers. If a potential buyer saw this forum, they would not want to get a game that is filled with people like you.

Pathetic attempts are pathetic. Because apparently being virgin makes all my points wrong (sorry if I kept on to my virginity, it’s barely legal at my age).

It’s not so much that you have a negative opinion about the game. Plenty of people do. Comes with the territory. It’s the fact that…and I say this bluntly and with complete objectivity…you’re a toll. An obvious person who has no social influence in his own day to day life, so to satisfy your obvious and blatant need for attention, you come here to troll, flame and otherwise disrupt these forums as best as you possibly can. A tactic that in essence got you blacklisted from the Bethesda forums, and will quickly lead you to getting removed from here as well, as evident from your orange star. There’s nothing wrong with having a differing opinion then everyone else. There IS on the other hand, a lot wrong with being a a**hole about it.

(nick1021) #8

Lol true. But asshole=/=troll.

Troll is making dumb points just for the sole reason of pissing people off. Maybe I SAY it to get some attention. But I’m not making up these points. They are my opinions and I’m stating them. And anyone who objects to this game has a red star really. I mean look at people like op. He just goes and insults anyone who goes against this game, and I’m sure his fanboyism rage brings down rep on any nay-sayer present.

(Bittermetal) #9

On on that note… I’m off to play Nicky-boy’s favorite most beloved bed-partner - the parkour-packed buffing-bound team-oriented class-based shooter, BRINK: A Nicky-Boy Game. Endorsed and brought to you by the Nicky-Boy Corp.

The Nicky-Boy Corp. was founded when BRINK shipped, May of 2011 and is a fully unfunded, staunch supporter of all things BRINK. The Nicky-Boy Corp is owned and operated under a bridge somewhere. Serving orcs since the dawn of time.

Okay lets have a civil discussion (if that’s not too hard). Argue against these points.

-The game is repetitive.
-No singleplayer.
-Mp can be barely called an mp since it’s mostly bots (sorry I buy MP games to play against other players).
-Balance is a fail (heavy is pointless, operative is nothing compared to other classes).
-Turret is bugged (said this many times. If you are too close it won’t lock on. Once it loses lock it has a cooldown before it can lock onto someone again. If you think these are actually there for balance, then it’s horrible balance. The turret sucks already).
-All bad games have a low playerbase (and there are reasons for that). But fanboys usually think that must mean all GOOD games have a high playerbase. Well I think CoD sucks, but at least it offers a sp, a lot of unlocks, a fun level system and works properly.
-The parkour is mostly a gimmick.
-Maps are poorly balanced.
-Same with guns.
-And spread sucks also.

Now if you can defend all (or most) of those points without petty insults, I’ll take them into consideration. But what you tards are doing right now is pathetic and potential buyers will be disgusted and not get this game.

All those points have been defending dozens of times over. And to be honest, no ones interested in your point anyomore. You burned that bridge long ago. Just hope its not the same bridge the trolls live under. That would very self-defeating. But then…

Well, I’m not sure what your age is, but when you get my age (I’m 31 BTW) you’ll realize the importance of not what you say, but how you say it. Take for example my 1st post in this thread. I could have just as easily came out and called you a worthless, trolling piece of crap with nothing better to do in your life. But I didn’t. I pointed out the fact that while your opinions and ideals do hold some merit and truth in them, your execution of presenting those opinions and ideals makes people less likely to agree with you, and more likely to throw you under the proverbial bus.

There’s a saying that goes like this: “Discretion is the better part of valor”. What that means in essence…sometimes it’s best not to say anything. Yes, if you have an opinion on something, it’s natural to want to express it. But if you actively and willing know that what you have to say will spurn a negative reaction in any sort, and not contribute in any sense or form, why say it? To get your jollies off? Make yourself feel good inside? It’s pointless, in poor taste, and serves no purpose aside from eliciting a negative reaction from people, which is a quick way to find yourself looking for a new forum to browse.

There are pros and cons about Brink. We get it. We all know them by now. So what purpose does it serve jumping into every thread you see stating something positive about the game and injecting it with your negative venom? See my point? You’re certainly not helping matters. You’re definitely not changing anything about the game, what it has or what it’s missing. You’re just spewing needless disorder into the thread, deliberate or unintentional. There have been PLENTY of thread that I’ve wanted to chime in on and speak my mind, but I chose not to because I weigh in what my comment would have to contribute to the thread and it’s subject matter. If it’s nothing positive, I stay out of it. Maybe it’s because I’m a “mature” gamer. Maybe it’s because I’m good at gauging people’s personalities even behind text on a screen. But the bottom line is your point will reach a far wider spectrum of understanding if you presented it without the satirical bite. A**holes don’t last long on web forums.

Here we go again. =/

EDIT: decided not to take my ban now.

(Thundermuffin) #15

Actually, I’m with nick on this one. The way you all defend against those points is by saying “this is how it was by design” or “deal with it.”

I paid 50$ for this game expecting ET3. They even said it was ET3, therefore that’s why I came into it expecting an Enemy Territory experience. Enemy Territory is played with strafe-jumping, accurate guns, well designed maps, a big community that has an SDK and mods/maps for it and lots of competition. Is any of that here?

They have fishbus and Dave Johnston making maps, yet the best they can do is Container City and Security Tower? Come on! Dave made dust, italy, cobble, etc. for CS and Fishbus made cp_steel and cp_frieght for TF2, yet you’d never know it based off these maps. Dust and freight are always played competitively in their respective games, but none of BRINK’s maps will be remembered after this game is dead.

Strafejumping was removed in this game because SMART is “revolutionary;” SMART isn’t revolutionary, it’s only a stepforward in one regard: you can let players jump over stuff like furniture while in past games they wouldn’t have been able to. That isn’t a big enough plus to disable strafejumping at all; just lower the dang tables and be done with it. It really, really irked me when I saw that serenade had posted a topic with a cvar called something like pm_bunnyhoprestriction and said if you take it off you get a more ET like feel. Why would anyone in their right mind restrict stuff like that? It was a cornerstone of ET and this is ET3, remember Rahdo said not to mince words!

I think everyone can take a look at a wall after they shoot and realize these guns aren’t accurate, lol. If not I can link you to that video TeoH posted and you can realize just how accurate the guns are.

I wouldn’t really care had they not said this was Enemy Territory 3; I would have let it roll off like other purchases I made that I regretted since I normally go into games not expecting much but a fun time. I’m not a fan of BC2, but I wasn’t told it was going to be something else. I was told it was going to be Battlefield without prone, with destruction, and other things. I got that game even if it was extremely buggy. I didn’t like it, so I moved on and didn’t get ticked because I got a game pretty close to what they said it was gonna be like.

“I’ll be honest,” said Richard Ham, creative director at Splash Damage to Joystiq during a recent press event in Los Angeles. “Brink is Enemy Territory 3. Let’s not mince words here.”

How can you expect people to not be upset or mad when they said it was ET3? Don’t say it’s a sequel to one game that as a very specific way of being played when it obviously isn’t. That’s like saying RDR is a prequel to GTA. It isn’t nor was it marketed like that.

(INF3RN0) #16

No doubt he’s a troll, but making a thread for it eh?? Not sure what you would hope to achieve there. He’s mad for valid reasons that the majority of people who bought Brink agree with, but he’s just a tad bit more expressive than the rest of the world . Bump for good measure.

Good lord!! You bought a game that didn’t say ET3 on the box thinking it would be ET3. Forget what the developers said in a random interview. Did the game look like it would play like an ET3. Did the videos seem like an ET3? Not to me. Seemed like what I paid for. Jesus!

[QUOTE=thesuzukimethod;349907]and this is what you do.

Oh wow! Ok. thanks didn’t know that was possible. That makes all the difference in the world.

(Thundermuffin) #20

If I’m suppose to forget what the developers said their game would be like over and over, why should I bother watching trailers or anything else about the game? They could just be lies, too.

They never showed the game on the PC, anyways, so how would the videos help? Games play so much different when you have a keyboard and mouse vs a controller so it’s hard to make an assumption. Had I made the assumption that that was how the game would be played, everyone here would have said, “no, no it plays so much differently.”

They kept saying the PC version was made for the PC, that it would have great competitive support and they reassured us over and over on sites like Crossfire that they were taking our wishes in as feedback and would work on them, such as a cvar for the removal of ironsights or letting us set spawn timers.

You may have paid for the videos. I paid for what rahdo said the game would be: an ET competitive experience. I’m sure lots of other competitive players did as well, so we have a right to be ticked after they said one thing and gave us another.

The boxart has nothing to do with it, by the way. A random interview? If you’re talking to Joystiq, you shouldn’t say stuff like that when you don’t mean it. Sites like Joystiq, Kotaku, etc., are read by tons of people and those people remember what you say; even if you hate Kotaku or something, it’s a huge site and if you say something in an interview and it gets posted there you better back it up when the game hits. They said something, the game came out, and it wasn’t what they said.
