Next Merc Role-Call?

So apparently new mercs are to be released every two weeks (if the stars align and bless us with good fortune anyway)… but who are your predictions (or wishes) for the next merc role-call?

Sparks was released on the 18th (I think), so a new free rotation and merc should be on the horizon in the next few days… if we’re lucky— not holding my breath, but keeping my fingers crossed.

I think it’ll probably be one of the unreleased mercs featured in the E3 trailer. First it was Sparks, that only leaves Turtle, Phantom and Phoenix. I’m guessing it won’t be Phoenix since a medic class merc was just released, but who knows.

Out of those, I’m really hoping for Phantom like most people seem to be. :blush:

I am hoping for Phantom or Stoker

I feel like Stoker will replace Nader for me…as much as I love her I gotta admit, the Timik and M4 are superior weapons to SMGs, and the Incendiary Nade + Ammo Station makes him a good alternative to Fragger.

Phantom is basically like the Spy from TF2, so I instantly wanna try him out and see if he’s more fun than Vanilla Spy was back in the day.

Definitely Stoker. I wasn’t in the closed beta unfortunately, so I can’t know for sure how he plays, but I always had a thing for molotovs and fire in general.

They did release two engineers in a row during closed beta. We shall see when they decide to reveal. :slight_smile:

True, but I think it’s more likely we’ll see two recon this time around.

I mean Vasilli is the only one, and we have 3 now of everything else.

If you guys didn’t watch the Splash Damage stream today I made some predictions on who could be the next merc and they seem to be pretty accurate (since AFK_Gimp didn’t want to “confirm” it). Anybody wanna hear it ? (Actually it’s already posted below)

1st I asked the question about the “Scrubs” trailer. “Are Mercs from the trailer going to be released faster than the others?”
Both Nexon and SD on their streams answered that it’s a “good observation” and Fluffy confirmed it saying “Yes”

2nd SD crew was asked about their fav Merc and Fluffy said “Merc that is coming next is my favourite because of his game style. But he changed since last time you’ve played him”

By that we can confirm that it’s not Turtle (since he was not released before)

My prediction:
Of all Mercs introduced in “Scrubs” and not added in-game yet we have Phantom and Phoenix

When I wrote that prediction on stream chat Fluffy said he won’t read it on stream because he doesn’t want to confirm it.

Imo it is 50/50 on Phoenix or Phantom
(I can be wrong, but it seems to be true :smiley: )

And it’s probably not Phoenix because they just released a medic and I doubt they would add two medics in a row.

My bet is on Phantom.

What’s taking so long on Thunder? He’s who I want the most probably and it would seem he has the fewest balance issues to sort out.

Everything seems to be possible. Let’s just wait for @MissMurder to tell us “It’s here” in the moment when SD will release the role-call to confirm our bets. By that time #PlayDirty guys :smile:

Oh, so I was right in assuming mercs in the trailer would come out next. I’d be happy with either Phantom or Phoenix. Both seem very interesting, and I’m from the Steam community, so I never got to experience DB (and the earlier mercs) before it became available there.

Very exciting!!! I can’t wait.

Based on that I would guess Phantom is next. Most people love a katana wielding in your face and you’re dead character (when they are on the right side of the katana).
More importantly from what I understand Phantoms mechanics where too powerfull/impossible to balance, when he was around the last time. So he is more likely to have changed since then.

Indeed sounds like its Phantom.

Phoenix worked very well / was pretty balanced, can’t imagine there was so much pressure to mix him up
