Next Game

let’s have a thread about what Splash Damage should make for us next, I’d like aerial combat or anything that I could have this in:

Please put a giant disclaimer of not saying the obvious ‘Brink 2!!!’, let’s have some imagination.

I would like an atmospheric coop survival horror hybrid type of thing like Doom 3 mixed with L4D but with less ammo and more Amnesia fear of being hunted and killed at any time, and you’re split up from each other on various parts Gears of War style.

Etqw2?

I’d like to see something different that’s a little out of their comfort zone… what though I don’t know

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 2

(CleaverDancer) #6

I can guess that the past game IP’s are now all owned by Bethesda on account of the purchase of id software…

But I think we should also ban all sequel suggestions… lets get creative

Fallout + Quake = Fallout Wars

Two Teams, BoS and Enclave. BoS use lazer weapons and heavy bullet guns (minigun, heavy MG) Enclave use Plasma and heay energy weapons. Both fighting for FEV.

Agreed, you ask people to be creative, and all they’re creative at is being unoriginal

TPS with a lot of acrobatics! And storyline!

(.Chris.) #10

A single player game that lasts more than 4 hours.

(SockDog) #11

Would we really want them to stop building on what they do and try something different? I do wonder how SD would fair if they exerted all their efforts on a single player game with depth and narrative.

Hold the sighs! but SMART makes me want a zombie related game where movement and avoidance are key components of the game. While I’ve said this for L4D I’d like to see two teams competing against each other with a CPU controlled third team of zombies and specials bringing the environment to life (or death).

I maintain that SD should invest some time in smaller games. Would be nice to see a $15-20 game come out of the studio that they can nurture in the long run without publisher interference.

(.Chris.) #12

Anything but another Zombie game…

The genre should have ended with Zombies Ate My Neighbors as you simply can’t top it.

(SockDog) #13

Hey I was happy with WWII games until some trendy nobber said it was all cliche and we had to move to MODERN COMBAAAAAT!

Okay, I’ll give up on the zombies as long as we get a multiplayer with a third, cpu controlled antagonist to act as real world interference. Actually, if you blindfolded (figuratively) the third team they might even be able to be player controlled.

Anyway. Excluding Modern Combat, WWII, Vietnam!, Space, Zombies, Apocalypse and no Brink sequel. What is there to explore?

BTW - I sure hope that’s milk coming out of his weapon!

(DarkangelUK) #14

A Steel Battalion style game with a 200 button controller.

(SockDog) #15

No M+KB support? Game will Suxorz.

(Nail) #16

meh, the newest SB uses Kinect

(SockDog) #17

Having used Kinect (and I’ll admit, this tubby git did find it fun larking about), I’m still not entirely convinced if it’s capable as an alternative to a traditional game controller.

thats should be Rage 2.
SD focused on different aspects of gameplay without Activision babysitting.

(Breo) #19

Wolfenstein 3 because Wolfenstein 2009 failed big time

(.Chris.) #20

What happened to Wolfenstein 2?
