Objective is No Longer Inside the Base for Better Balance and less Spawn killing
Added a Pond In the Centre of the Map
Scrapped the Red/Blue Theme
Scrapped the Fog which is now Substituted for Forestry
Added New Sounds
Tons of Changes and Improvements

I am Also Developing a Noquarter Version off this Map
Baserace2 (Noquarters Edition)

I added a Clothing Shack, which Appear When Covert Op Shack has Reached Level 3


(Ignore Textures in Image)
Covert Ops can Come Here and Pick up any Disguise (Medic/Engineer/Soldier/Field op/Covert op)

Added Pliers/Dynamite at Engineer Shack
Added Flak Jacket at Engineer Shack (when at level 4)
Added Flak Helmet at Soldier Shack (when at level 4)
Added Satchel/Detonater/SmokeBombs at Covert Shack (Multi-satchel now possible)
Added Medic-heal at health Shack when At Level 4, any Class can Heal themselves with medpacks
(if pick up all weapons is enabled any class can pick up any weapons/tools, or when Soldier has reached Level 8: Advanced Weapons Training)

DAZ, at the tread in which they released the original Base race files, you said you would like to make it for ET XreaL. Would you still like to do that?

I’m on the project and the past few days I’ve been looking around to see people that might be interested to put there work into the main project. Pls PM me if you want to help, and if you want your remake in ET XreaL.

Yes, I Will Make this For Xreal, they are few issues With Xreal that are preventing me from Doing so.

The map2map Feature of ETXmap is Corrupting my Map
e.g. Gives me this error “CG_ParseSpawnVars: EOF without Closing Brace”

I Can’t Run Maps Because of the Memory Problem , I have this Error
“Z_Malloc: failed on allocation of 16777240 Bytes from the main zone regardless of what i set com_hunkmegs”

And ET-Xreal Takes forever to Loadup

When these Bugs are Fixed I Will Make it For Xreal.

havnt tried it yet but what i hear from our players at DRi they enjoy the map.
And as regular Baserace keep messing my server i’m glad to have option with v2 :slight_smile:

well now i tried it and its ok map. Though my regular players call it Baserace pussy version :slight_smile:
Thats cause the obj is outside and not in the base and i would like to test it with obj inside each base.
Is it possible for u to release such version? Its ok if u wanna call it Baserace DRi version :slight_smile:

I Realise the Objective is Easy to Get too, There is Not Enough Trenches for the Objective to Be inside the Base, as My Version was not Based on Baserace_final as such.

The Best Way To Make it Harder i think is to make the map 1.5 Times Larger

Extra large would work for us with 30+ players most of the time. And with dj and adren we run fast so 1.5 bigger would not be a big difference i guess.
dont know what trenches are but would be great if obj where inside.

I run this map on my server aswell. So far most comments from other players are:

  • map to small
  • obj. better if inside
  • need fog because now easy to kill from one end on the second
  • missing underground tunnels

Yes, i will Fix All These. I Currently Have a Brand New Map Terrain that is Much Larger, All that is needed is to Map Out a New Underground for Which baserace2_Final and Baserace Starwars will Later Become.

This is the New Enviroment, Bases on Either Side, Just need to Work Out Where to Put What and Fix Up Terrain

One improvments - besides tunnel system - would be cool.

Some map support for the “tie” system, which mean if nobody win than the map will endif the maptime is over else the map will run infinite until somebody have more score like the other team.

F.e. Darji2 know this “magic”. I would like this to see here too.

Any progress, Gir?

By switching Depth Buffer from Default to 24 I get a decent FPS rate on my 2010 laptop (50-60 FPS), so I guess older ones have troubles, even more if they don’t tweak the System part of ET settings. So the update planned is interesting, if not crucial :slight_smile:
