Um,the CSS doesn’t render so well in older browsers - IE5 for example. I think your cookie expirey is set a little shortas well?

I’m not going to read through three pages of comments to fin if this is here or not but I just logged on and it said I had no new messages (PM) but when I went to send one I found there was a new one as the response of the last time I logged on

Just tried to add an avatar from my local host - the GIF was outsized and shouldn’t have been accepted anyways but I got the following errors when the page came back;

I already had a personal avatar uploaded if that helps at all.

Also, when I try to get my profile information, initially it says I don’t exist - is that an philosophical stance your taking? Are you asking me to consider the wider implications of that statement and its context in space and time?

Finally - I take it then (from the error message) that whilst the rest of the civilised world is taking action against the biggest monopoly since AT&T (M$) - you guys start running the site with their ‘stuff’ - shame on you .

Nice new look. I haven’t been here in a while, it looks better.

The highlighting of search words are done by writing them in bold. It would be much easier to spot them in different colors and with a different background color.

Also a white text color in the input fields and textareas would be nice. The black text on a dark grey background can be hard to see.

The news page now appears to be fixed and fine with Firebird, excellent.

Still no change of text colour in the quick reply box here though, bit of a strain on people with poor brightness & contrast settings I’d imagine.

The only thing that really annoys me, except forum rendering twice most of the time, is that i have to login again everytime i go to the forum. Isn’t there any autologin function in this one?

Been getting that too today. Had a similar problem with my Clan’s website (albeit uses a PHPNuke version of the phpBB2 forum) and it was caused by someone (who posted in the thread in question) having “Notify me when a reply is posted” enabled.

seems logical since it wants to connect to mail.splashdamage.com:25, might be a good thing to fix then :).

Sometimes (and I haven’t pinned it down), the forum will set the session cookies with the domain set to ‘.www.splashdamage.com’ (sic), which completely breaks things until I delete those cookies. (It keeps forgetting that I’m logged in after that point.)

Also, connections to the SMTP server to send the new post notifications are still failing.

maybe i am teh lame, but the first page looks like shit with my browser, ie 5.00.3700.1000, i wouldnt be surprised if its just the browser that doesnt work though

I think you should update your browser a bit. 5.0 is very old so i’m not surprised that it looks shit :).

There is a prob with my account says my pass is incorrect and i use the same pass for everything and i tried to sighn in like 18 times said its incorrect and when i want to get my email back it gives me the Code i put that in then i get another email and it gives me a new pass and then when i put that new pass in it puts me to a page where it says to login register and other it never signed me in and i had to creat a MSN account to login in to theses forums. But also it says that the email adress is still active and it wont let me reregister.

Remove the black whit the vertical grey line on top so you don’t have to scroll down half way the page before you actually see something. :bored:
The only page with starts on top is the forum page.

When I type a post, it’s really, really hard to see what I’m typing (black on grey) - my spellings bad enough as it is - are you trying to break me?

Also, either increase your session lengths or remove the quick-reply option - if your session expires and you’ve done a quick reply you lose it - very, very irritating.

I realise you’re trying to be securty consious, but so long as you regularly back this place up I don’t see that you have to put us through this - that’s assuming of course you had the good sense to make sure this machine is in it’s own DMZ and completely seperated from your dev environment. *me thinking of HalfLife 2

Well, its no longer phpBB 2.x its now running PNphpBB2.

very funny bug: after editing my post in this thread my Opery 7 now loads the entire forum twice, after scrolling to the bottom (the ‘Powered by PNphpBB2 1.2 © 2003 PNphpBB Group’ line) the forum starts again with the forum damage graphic, all posts etc

Loding the same page in IE 6 everything looks fine.

After posting a new reply the site loads fine again, but just to prove that I’m not insane I’ve taken a screenshot… just in case

Yeah I just experienced that too with opera 7.23. See this screenshot

It also happenend with a pm (the double screen) and I couldn’t click on smilies to import them
