New weapons

(thrill11) #1

I know that there are only 24 weapons and that they are all different based on your character and attatchments. Brink is obviously incomplete, so since updates and patches are being issued…we might as well take advantage of the situation. Brink seriously needs more weapons along with tune ups. I highly advise a weapon creation contest (people submiting art/ideas of new weapons to be included in patches). ex: Cannons, launchers, abilities, ect. I seriously hope developers will look into this, because I have 2 lvl 20 characters so far…8 to go, and at this rate (not to be mean or anything) BRINK may get really boring really fast. DON’t WAIT to do this in sequel, because whats the point in that when patches can be done. We DID pay $60 for this hoping it’d be GREAT…

i have 6 level 20s and exploring each weapon with new attachments feels totally different every time but somethings gotta give, really there arnt many heavy weapons.

but no point in complaining its good how it is i just want all those prorder bonus’

We don’t need more weapons, certainly not when the existing ones need to be balanced.

Not complaining, just saying what evryones thinking. Might as well throw in weapons, maps and all that jazz while fixing the game right? I that’s something everyone can agree to. Think of the bonuses and patches as an appology for the wait.

new weapons is a bad idea … there is no point … it means either introducing unbalanced weapons or weapons that are just different skins on existing weapons … better to properly balance existing weapons, starting with carb9/kross, they need a minor tweak to stop em from being magic guns

There are plenty of weapons for the heavy … absence of a rocket launcher is a blessing

ET:QW had a great balance of weapons … virtually all possible options with no extra fluff

BC2 has plenty of fluff e.g: I got platinum(1000 kills) for all assault rifles and came to the conclusion that they were all the same weapon, cept 2 of them were burst fire instead of full-auto.

Wow. I couldn’t disagree more. I hate Cannons, launchers, mortars, any easy kill weapons in a game. No way! The weapons are very diverse in Brink, you just have to dig a little and try different attachments. Have you unlocked all the weapon attachments by doing challenges?

(SphereCow) #7

It’s not about leveling up, collection weapons, or getting bling.

Level 20 does not mean the end of the game. Devs should not waste their time on creating new weapons, really.

Uhhh. Who, exactly?

“Might as well throw in weapons, maps, all that jazz, cametypes, new clothes, hats, aptns, undies, attachments, and parasols.”

Creating content takes a while, so you might be a bit disappointed.

(thrill11) #8

I will admit that’s also something to think about, however, I ment new weapons, tweaks, ect. all in one patch.

(thrill11) #9

yes, I’ve unlocked all of them (too easily if you ask me), but if not the epic stuff then what ideas do you have? very interested by what everyone is saying.

(thrill11) #10

So, basically you guys just want the lag to stop, faster texture loading, and balanced weapons. No new weapons, maps, or ANYTHING?

(thrill11) #11

This shocked me the most. You see a lot of this in Gears of War, and halo. people very rarely get enough of that.

(SphereCow) #12

Some people don’t like Halo. Shocking, huh?

Wolf had only 7 weapons, or so, and I can still play that weapons for hours on end. Admittedly, Brink could use more maps, but the game is not supposed to revolve around weapons. Theoretically, it should work with 7-10 weapons, but 20 something is needed to satisfy many gamers who think Halo is truly oldschool.

(ataliba) #13

we could really use some new weapons… and changing colors would be great aswell

(thrill11) #14

Ah, someone else who thinks so.

no way you’re serious… they all feel and behave quite differently…

Aside from halo though, you wouldn’t like see anything new? Seriously though, do think BRINK will last long as it is? After the performance updates?

(wolfnemesis75) #17

Just new maps. Weapons are fine. Leave them alone. You need to step up and play some team play, brother. Stop wishing for a Rocket Launcher so you can dominate everyone by yourself and rack up the killz, lol. Where the heck does a launcher or a cannon fit in Brink? Seriously, where? One side barely has water and some of their clothes has duct tape to hold it together, or was stolen. Oh, and no Gears fan asked for a cannon or any easy one hit kill weapons.

(Bodo_Fraggins) #18

any difference is purely psychological … they all kill just as quick and you use the same firing technique … there were a couple of crappy ARs but they were patched to make em same as others

not to say psychological differences aren’t important, I like the feel and sound of the ARs some better than others and some have more usable iron sights

(thrill11) #19

You got me there. Guess it was doing the same missions that made me fear getting bored. Ok, end of thread. Thanks for the input.

(Glyph) #20

Wait, so weapons that fulfill unique roles should be locked preventing players from having a fair chance to use the appropriate weapon for a situation? You have been playing way too much CoD or games trying to be like it.
